Just seen on the BBC gossip that CH is after Redmond and one or two other players in the summer. I'd love to see Redmond come to CR, as I think he has a bright future. Read all about it - http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/norwich-transfer-news-nathan-redmond-1806938
With Birmingham still struggling and CH knowing the guy, it is a distinct possibility assuming they had a good working relationship as St Andrews. My only niggling doubt is the question of is he really good enough? He has now spent nearly 2 full seasons in the Championship with little or no interest in him from nay other PL team, not even those in the bottom half, so to me it does beg the question. Yes he young - very young, and promising so he does at least have two things going for him. I would not be bouncing around the house if we signed him but would be happy to see what he can do before making a proper judgement as I have never seen him play, not even on a stream.
He'd just be a good addition to the squad, not one of the flag ship signings we're expecting come the summer.
Superb goal at the Palace last week - I agree with Beef - we need someone to challenge Pilks place. Bright prospect and could be worth an offer.
This ^^ I can't believe that others are generally a little cool on this link. He is one of the brightest prospects in the country, plays in a position we need to strengthen and is likely to be available at a decent price... Two seasons in the prem and we start to see ourselves as slightly above players like Redmond?!
I think with Hughton's links and Birmingham's lack of cash, their best players were always going to be considered targets. Granted 3 goals and 6 assists isn't a fabulous return this season, but he is only 19. When was the last time we had an U21 who was a championship regular?
Good to see that the majority are in favour of this bit of 'gossip' - let's hope it happens and I like the idea that CH is planing early for who he wants to sign in the summer!!! Totally agree that we ned competition for Pilks, as he can get a bit 'lost' in some games.
I was going to say the same thing. Although he hasn't been cracking many pots or pulling up many trees (or whatever phrase you wish to use) he is still a very talented player in this division in what has been an absolute dire Birmingham team this season. Also, I think there were/are a few Prem teams after him (during January) but obviously nothing ever materialised but he has been on the radar of a few clubs as far as I'm aware so others seem to rate him.. Definitely would be a useful addition from what I've seen of him (even if it's a couple of years down the line when you'd start to reap the rewards)
I think there's definitely a bit of snobbery sneaking in amongst the fans as regards signings. The other one that gets me is the "we should be beating teams like these" statement. Total bollocks in my view. We deserve to beat any team we play better than and score more goals than they do against. Everyone in the prem is there on merit and should be respected (except QPR)
I got slaughtered at the start of the season for saying the very same thing following our 5-0 thumping at Fulham btw Munky - Note Fulham's lofty position in the league mate
