How about 'Speedy' after Nacho Gonzales.

    Or even Gary Speed.

    What about Oba or Shola?
Shaqiri, Benny, Harris, Bobby, Sven, Papadopoulos?
    Maybe Will Ferrell?

Good luck to you in raising it!

Used to be very popular pets when I was a kid, almost everybody had one. Cost nothing to keep and easy to look after.

Quite expensive initially though, depending what kind you get. Friend of mine paid over £100 I think.

Cheers yeah I dunno if I can be arsed stretching that much for one. Will see what the prices are like here, stuff is usually cheaper generally too so that could help.

Wouldn't have been anywhere near as popular if they'd cost £100 back then.

They're one of the hardest Pets to look after and I've had dogs, cats, hamsters etc

Babies cost around £150, Adults cost even more and the cost of looking after them isn't exactly cheap either.

It's hard to talk about all the aspects of looking after them in one post but they're not an easy pet to look after by far. Yes people use to buy them for pennys in the day and do whatever with them but almost all tortoises in them cases died in hibernation (or before).

People didn't really know how to look after them back then which was a shame, but people are much wiser now. Just look on the internet on how to care for a tortoise and you'll be overwhelmed. Not to mention how different species eat different things, require different habitats, lamps etc.

    Don't step into it lightly.

Ouch damn. I had this great vision of me and my new buddy watching the match, 150 is a bit steep for what it is and I work quite a lot so probably best not having a high maintenance pet on my hands.

Cheers for the info btw <ok>

If you have your heart set on one, get one but research like hell first.

This may sound horrible but sometimes I'd wish I would wake up and it wasn't there, that's how much fuss it's caused me...
Of course now I know roughly how to give it a decent life, I can cope a bit better.

Still not got to the hibernation stage though, that'll have me on edge a bit.
