http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/323630/ Do we really need another winger unless someone is on way out?
Personally I want to see another 2 strikers (Bony + 1) maybe even 3 and more cover in the back before we go into the midfield
A number of clubs have expressed an interest in this player but I'm slightly underwhelmed by his goal ratio of just about 1 in 4. I think his present stats are something like 21 in 80 games. Hardly prolific. Tall for a winger (6ft2") maybe we are thinking of playing him through the middle. I'd want a better scoring pedigree for the sort of money that's being quoted.
I agree but our urgent need is for a striker so I'm wondering if Laudrup wants to play him up front. We seem to be ok for wingers and I wouldn't be inclined to pay top dollar for another one when we have absolutely no strike options at present. We might well land Boney, or whoever, but right now Moore is the only dedicated striker on the books.
Perhaps we're putting it out there that we have options so that whatever is blocking the Bony deal get the message and straightens out.
If he was played up front his strike rate should go up as it did for Ronaldo, Bale and others when they were moved inside. I'm thinking that if we are having difficulty bringing strikers in it may be due to their wage demands rather than the transfer fees and if so buying attacking midfielders and converting them into strikers may be one way of getting around that. It worked with Michu after all ...
Swansea City are closing in on their fourth signing of the summer transfer window after tabling a bid for FC Twente winger Nacer Chadli. Michael Laudrup has already brought in Jose Canas and Jordi Amat, in addition to securing Jonathan de Guzman on another season-long loan, and he is now closing in on Chadli. Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad claim the Swans have offered FC Twente £8.5m for the exciting midfielder, who plays for Belgium at international level despite representing Morocco in a non-competitive game earlier in his career. Liverpool and Tottenham, as well as Shakhtar Donetsk, have also been linked with Chadli but it appears Swansea City are best placed to bring him to the Premier League this summer. The 23-year-old, who started his career at AGOVV Apeldoorn, netted 12 times in the Eredivisie last season.
Claims in the papers this morning e have signed a 17 year old whiz kid keeper for an undisclosed fee.
Not much of a winger but an AM/CF with a left foot, playmaker type with brilliant technique and passing.
Nacer Chadli hopes to continue in the English Premier League, but his career Swansea City has not his preference. The club from Wales is very interested, but Chadli has indicated to wait for a bigger club, reports reporter Kristof Terror of The Latest News. FC Twente has a bid, reportedly seven million euro, stalled. In addition, Chadli expressed to want to take a decision yet. The Belgian vleugelaanvaller resumed thursday the ilt at FC Twente. Because if Chadli interlandverplichtingen connect later. The Red Devil has on interest not to complain about. Also Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, Liverpool, Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion are interested. Previously was already interest from Ukraine (Shakhtar Donetsk region), Russia (Lokomotiv Moscow) and Italy (Juventus). Translated:
As I said in another thread,we are going to be3rd choice for a lot of these boys up until the bigger clubs get their 1st/2nd choice targets! We are not going to blow teams away with the money so it could well be a waiting game, having said that, Bony s wages were apparently within our budget so the size and location of our club becomes the next issue....until they go to rossi's and Joe's Ice cream
