I think our squad is good enough with the addition of a lw and a old skool cf! The managerial direction IMO is the problem
but I dont think Bruce is a bad manager or that we have bad players and like the title says, my take, its only me I speak for
But Syd. SB isn't a great manager either! Is he good? I think no! He is mediocre at best. I think he has lost the dressing room. We have Chelsea next! I worry about Stoke after that! Look at the potters. Europe. Sick of below average SAFC. We are over the moon because we finished a lucky 10th last season. x
the I think is right, your opinion but not everyones. He is not a great manager but IMO he is a good solid prem manager who will be here until November at least. Was I happy with today but I was happier than if we had lost so will take comfort from that.
We don't seem to be firing yet and are definately missing creativity and a striker. What gets on my goat is people saying that this player is S*** and that player is C***, it's funny how many ex Sunderland players seem to leave the club and have successful careers in the prem with another team. Do we put to much pressure on them? Do we expect to much? I agree we should expect more as we have been promised alot and Bruce does not impress or fill me with confidence but unfortunately he is our manager (ATM) and we will just have to do our bit and support them as much as possible no matter how much you need to bite your tongue so to speak, BUT IMO things need to improve and not just for one game followed by another shocker.
Spot on mate, Richardson and Elmo shouldn't be anywhere the first team imo, and I may not like his tactics or his (lack of) decisiveness during the game, but until he gets ****ed off, I don't want the team to lose just so I can come to these boards and get rid of my frustrations. A point is point, and thats the important thing.
After hearing him on the radio tonight - huffing about fans wanting him out - IMO we will get beat off Chelsea, probably Stoke too (IMO) and he will walk (IMO). Leaving us with HIS squad and no money. IMO that will leave us dead in the water. Anyone think different? x
I think Bruce's biggest fault is he cant decide how to effectively use HIS players and thats compounded by his tactical blindness, a new manager shouldn't have that problem. So When/IF he leaves we will be fine mate, no need to cut your wrists just yet.
Vaux Its the "dont rock the boat" squad who get up my nose. We are constantly failing? Well, don't upset Quinn. Don't upset Short. FFS don't upset SB! Wake up SAFC fans. We couldn't beat a poor Toon. We couldn't beat a new premiership team who have spent nowt, and oh, we go out of a cup to a team that weren't even playing Doncaster, Hull or Sheff Utd last year. We drew against a team with pedigree because they were going for blood against us on their home turf. Satisfied? Am ****ing not. x
Mate, I'm not ****ing satisfied either. I can get ****ed off with what we're not doing or I can look at the positives and see the good things we are doing. I still think Bruce isn't the man for us and until he goes I'll criticise him when he ****s up, alternatively when he does things I approve of I'll give him the credit. That for me is the only way to look at it. Did we do nothing today that you thought was a step forward?
Honest answer Vaux? (stupid question - of course its honest IMO!) We were crap against a team who will probably be relegated. From what I saw the matched us and at times overran us. They hit the bar (unlucky for them) and wasted chances - against a team supposedly on the up and with 4 years prem experience. We were woeful, wasteful. IMO that makes us arrogant and lazy. I despair because we will get rid of Bruce and then start again. Every season the bloody same. Its the loss v Brighton and the poor showing today that have kicked my teeth in. x
Bob, you know my feelings on Bruce, I'm not a happy clapper that will give him my unconditional support no matter what ****e he serves us up, neither am I one to see negatives in everything (thats not a dig at you btw). I saw enough out there that when we get a first choice striker in and we sort out Sess's best position we will have enough for a comfortable mid table spot, if we can get tactically clued up (either through Bruce getting his ****e together or a new manager)
Vaux. You talk about getting in a new striker. We have had ALL the close season to get one. Did Bruce think he'd done the job with Whickham and Jong? It looks to me that he did - otherwise why the panic to get one in now? How many people on here have been saying this (plus the LW and the LB) all close season? If we're saying it - as laymen of the lowest order - what about his specialist advisors? 3 days left. If it remains as bad as it is now................ IMO x
