I hate O'Dear and think he is by far our worst player and defender but I think 60% of fault lies with Bromby for the goal and 35% fault lies with o'Dear the other 5% was a mixture of players out on the left. Give him credit where credit is due, he had a decent game. Also Iqbal, I think webber shoulda scored the sitter but couldn't have done much more with the other chances. There was a lot of good signs. My main issue with White was that he isn't a RW, it wasn't how he played just I think it was a poor decision to play him there. He has no right foot, doesn't even use it for dribbling let alone crossing with, thats why i gave him a lower score. Also I think I might have been a little harsh on Clayton
He had a good game yet made a horrible error in man marking that we've gotten used to seeing from him... not really going to give credit to a player who's out of his depth for not having as terrible a game as he normally has. "Congratulations, you weren't as **** as normal!"
But he wasn't as **** as normal. I'd still replace him in the starting line-up but 1 mistake from him in a game is much better than I expected.
I just can't be happy with the "make do with what we've got" attitude that we're having forced upon us.
Im not a make-do with what we've got kinda person. I can't stand O'Dear. I have said many a times he is the worse player I have seen in a leeds shirt that I can remember, worse than Collins imo. But you cannot take away from him having a decent game, he should still be dropped and we should still sign a replacement
I know mate, nothing personal. It just makes me wretch when people try put a positive spin on things that aren't really positive. The team had a brilliant game on Saturday and were unlucky not to score, but Darren O'Dea ruined it by being substandard again. Trying to put a positive spin on mediocrity reminds me of the Leeds United club policy and makes me vomit. I'm actually getting to the stage that I love the team, but the mere mention of the club makes me feel like I'm being robbed even while I'm sat in my home not spending anything. The mention of Leeds United doesn't make me feel proud any more, it's tinged with embarrassment and resentment.
Im sorry you feel that way. But I think the performance from pretty much every player on saturday was a positive
Well, yes, it was. When I say I putting a positive spin on mediocrity, I mean the performance of Darren O'Dea. He was still a bit iffy and despite making a few good clearances and generally being acceptable, his mistakes lead to a goal. Any other player I'd accept it as a mistake and not give him so much stick about it but he does it all the time. The rest of them were incredible. I especially think McCormack and Becchio had brilliant games.
A little. Don't get me wrong, my passion isn't fading, I just feel entirely let down by the club, that continues to humiliate itself.
There are clearly fans who don't like O'Dea, so there will always be an unbalanced opinion about him. Warnock did say that. I agree that he isn't the greatest defender, but I thought he had a better game on Sat. I just thought the whole team chased everything and the work rate was brilliant. How the ref didn't give the handball is beyond me.
Marko, sorry if I was trying to be positive. Don't have a go at supporters, remember who the real enemy is, that's Bates. We are stuck with the players we have because he was too tight with his money and then waited till the transfer window was closed before sacking the manager, thus insuring that the new man couldn't bring in new players.
I stand by my view that any attempt at positivity in these times will just prolong the tenure of ken bates. Any attempt at positivity slows down the rate at which discontent develops and quells the desire to speak up. That said, I think the banning order on the board members of LUST is enough to keep tempers high.
