Bristol City: "I would have wanted my money back!" - Johnson reflects on Rotherham draw in midweek

BRISTOL City head coach Lee Johnson admitted he would have asked for his money back had he been a paying customer at Ashton Gate in midweek.
One of those occasions when the result was more important than the performance,
Tuesday's relegation battle against Rotherham United will scarcely live long in the memory of those who witnessed it.

Peter Odemwingie's 53rd minute strike cancelled out Matt Derbyshire's first-half opener as City came from behind to earn a point from a bruising battle, but the quality of the fare on offer left many supporters feeling short-changed.

Speaking to the media at City's weekly Thursday press call today, Johnson admitted: "Had I paid to watch that, I would have wanted my money back!"
He added: "It's fair to say it was not aesthetically pleasing and it was certainly not a game for the football purists.
"I don't think it was too bad entertainment-wise, given that it was an important game between two teams desperate for the win and we all had one eye on results elsewhere.
"But had the head coach of Barcelona come along to watch, he would probably have left at half time.

"There are different ways of getting results in this division and we had to pick a team that could compete, deal with long throws and deal with crosses coming into the box."
