My first prediction is that all those who think the cavalry are going to arrive in large numbers in the January transfer window are going to be bitterly disappointed. Maybe 2 or 3 new players will come in and we will spend £2-3 million. Quite what impact they will have on the team’s performance, who knows, but by and large the squad which we already have will have to be the squad to keep us up. The fact (or not, as the case may be) that other teams will be spending big to stay up is an irrelevance.

Next, I believe that Brendan will keep the same style and formation to the end and will keep to the principles which got us here in the first place. This will not please everybody but we are still in a decent position despite what some are saying. We will continue to try and dominate possession, persist with two wingers and a lone striker.

My third prediction is that 36 points will be enough to keep us up. Over the last 10 seasons the number of points required to stay up (one more than the 18th place team to avoid issues of goal difference) has been 40, 31,35,37,39,35,34,34,43 and 37. The 18th place team this season currently has 15 points which is about the lowest number of points that any 18th place team has achieved in the last 10 years at this stage.

Fourth, we will get 2 away wins before the end of the season. We have still to play a lot of bottom-half teams away - Bolton, Wigan, QPR, Fulham, Sunderland, West Brom. The flip side is that a lot of top teams are still to visit the Liberty and our good home record will get worse.

Michel Vorm will be voted Swansea City’s player of the season.

My sixth prediction is that we won’t give the FA Cup much priority and won’t go beyond the fourth round, if that.

Lastly, and most importantly, we will beat Wolves 2-1 at home on 28 April 2012 to secure our place in the Premier League for a second season, with 2 games to spare.

    Happy New Year!

Can't argue with any of those predictions! You suggested that Michel Vorm will be voted Player of the Season for us, but will he still be with us in August 2012 for the start of next season??

Barnsley will win 2-0. Our fans who travelled for 7 hours each way will be disapponted. But there is a bigger picture to paint.

My prediction is we will have the same amount of points away & at home in 2012 . 13 away & 13 at home for a total of 46 points .

the reason it took us 6 hours to get to everton was that we got stuck in a huge tailback on the m6. it should take less than 5 to barnsley. we'll also get our "refreshments" in bramley. there were 3100 of us at villa yesterday. back home bt 8:15. cracking.
