My vision for the 2011/2012 season
Would anybody mind if this was our team next season?

    Asamoah Gyan/Danny Welbeck (£12-15million)/DJ Campbell (£1.25 million)/Stephane Sessegnon/Fraizer Campbell

No big man but thats because I dont think we need one with Gyan's ability to hold the ball up.

I think there is plenty goals within this combination to be a force next season added that all of these lads will be commited to Sunderland, hopefully DJ will buy into the club as well giving us a makem united strikeforce.

Coupled with some quality signings in midfield with the Bent money, N'zogbia (£11 million), Gibson (£5 million), Jarvis (£8 million).

Leaving Ellis Short's savings to sort out the defence, Johnson from Brum is on the cards but not at the £14 million they are quoting more like £6 million after Carsson Yeung comes down from his crack session, Left back is an area Bruce seems to overlook season after season but this season it needs adressed. I honestlty have no idea who we could or will sign so I am going for a change of formation.

    Team for next season,

    -----------------------Mignolet----------------------

    ------Bardsley--------Johnson------Bramble-------

    --------------------Cattermole---------------------

    Jarvis----------------Gibson--------------N'Zogbia

    --------------------Sessegnon---------------------

    ---------------Gyan--------Welbeck--------------

    Subs,

    Westwood
    Colback
    DJ Campbell
    Turner
    Richardson
    Ferdinand
    Steed
    Larsson
    Elmo

not a fan of that formation pal

IMO it will be along the lines of...

    ---------------------- Mignolet ----------------------

    -- O'Shea ------ Brown ------- Bramble ---- New LB --

Sessegnon - Gibson ------------- Cattermole - New LM

    -------------- New CF --------- Gyan ---------------

    subs

Turner, Bardsley, Westwood, Larsson, Richardson, N'Gog, Dong-Won

backed up with the likes of Ferdinand, Colback, Meyler, Riveros, Malbranque and Elmohamady. As for the New LM and New CF hopefully N'Zogbia and Pavyluchenko as for a left back don't have a clue but we need an attack minded LEFT FOOTED left back.

I agree Mitch. Bardo has made the left back position his own. If we get a left sided midfield player, the balance problem will be solved.

Jarvis and N'Zog on the wings would be unbelievably good. Not sure we'll manage to get either though!

Sess is wasted on the wings i think and O'shea & Brown will not progress our club, much rather have Onouha back as he is young, full of drive and overall better than these 2 man b teamers

To make any of this work, the transfers would have to be in place, thats why I do the Telegraph fantacy football, at least I know its not real.

    My 'wishful thinking' vision:

    Gordon
    Onouha - Bramble - Johnson - Bardo
    Larsson - Catts - Sess - N'Zog
    Gyan - Welbeck

.....With the midfield able to switch from a flat four, to a diamond with Catts holding and Sess pressing, to one with 2 high wingers (Sess/Zog) and 2 CMs (Larsson/Catts) against weaker teams. Magic.

    More realistically:

    Gordon
    O'Shea - Bramble - Turner - Bardo
    Larsson - Gibson - Catts - Sess
    Gyan - N'gog
