Queen are my first music love. I played several instruments down the years but spent the vast majority as a fairly unsuccessful bass player in several heavy metal bands... the bands were good, generally, just not successful. All told I'm fairly eclectic (anything that is trulytalented will get a listen), but it's the likes of Rammstein, Type O Negative (RIP Pete Steel), Foo Fighters (anyone going to MK in July?), Porcupine Tree (from Hemel, did you know?), Alter Bridge and Alice In Chains that float my boat. Not everyones cup of tea but hey...
Hey Norway, reading between the lines I reckon you might like Alter Bridge and Porcupine Tree! Eclectic? Yeah, Vic Fontaine is one of my favourites (James Darren) and I went to see Babs on her last tour, ditto Ennio Morricone the genius that he is... and Julian Lloyd Webber fairly recently.
Love this track - and not just because the guy playing the clapsticks is wearing a WFC scarf! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7luUI7nnmE
Saw Neil Diamond on telly the other day - I an a bit embarrassed to say I quite liked some of his stuff
Oh I like a bit of Neil Diamond. My Mum and sisters saw him in concert last year [?], apparently he was great. His only real bowzer for me was 'Red Red Wine' which is a stinker. And as for the UB40 version .
UB40 version always reminds me of time spent in an Israeli Kibbutz, they always played it on the party nights!
