Couldn't work out if this deserved a thread or not: Murray Walker has been diagnosed with cancer and will undergo chemotherapy as soon as possible in an attempt to beat the disease. It has been caught early and is hopefully treatable. Best wishes to him. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/22946026
Awful news. Although he says they have caught it early, I worry because he's 89 and that can't be a helpful factor. Let's hope "I am very much mistaken". Anyway, I really hope he can beat this: get well soon, Murray.
Murray is a hero and a legend in his own lifetime. I am greatly saddened to hear of this unwelcome news. It is a blow. Then again, it is typical of the man to always look for â and invariably find â the positive side to any misfortune. I believe it was breaking his pelvis recently which lead to the discovery of the cancer at an early stage, without which it is likely that it would not have been discovered for some time. Of course, as usual, Murray sees this as a stroke of luck! He is right at the top as one the world's most popular personalities; and in showing that it is OK to make mistakes when you have integrity, he is a real example to humanity that we can all make the world a better place. He has enriched all of our lives. And long may we hope that he continues to do so. Murray, sir, you're a nugget deserving of at least another 25 years; so do us all another favour and get well quickly, eh?
I think Cosi's said it better than i ever could. So I'll just keep it to a simple Get well soon Murray, Glad that this has been spotted early.
Without repeating what everyone else has said about the great man, I too wish Murrary a successful recovery. I was brought up with Murray as the F1 meastro since I started watching F1 in the late 80's. He is Mr F1, well, Mr motorsport if we're honest as anyone who used to listen to when he unleashed himself on the BTCC will remember! His F1 commentary was positvely calm compared to him commenting on Rouse, Hoy, Harvey, Soper, Cleland & co!
A motor racing legend and Britain's lucky to have him. I remember him from my days at school and have such great F1 memories with his voice as the background. You can win this Murray. Get well soon.
Came across this and me and Iceman both signed it with our best wishes please log in to view this image
