http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18358901 Article showing Hughton's hands on approach on the training ground and with the players. Seems the players have always appreciated him at both Newcastle, Birmingham and his previous coaching roles. I think its refreshing to have a character so different to the previous man come in, should really spur on the players and offer a new challenge. its also nice to have someone who is somewhat more articulate in the press room!
Different style of management perhaps, but going by this article, the players will give CH absolutely everything as they did with PL.
I think Chris Hughton is an excellent choice for manager and I was very impressed by his interviews at the press conference and afterwards in the restaurant. Hopefully, he can continue the excellent work done by Paul Lambert and further build and improve on it. Personally, I think Paul Lambert has made a big mistake leaving Norwich for Aston Villa as we are a club on the rise and have growth potential in crowd support if the stadium is increased to say 40k. Also, the noises from the club regarding financial commitment to new manager is very encouraging and makes you wonder why Paul Lambert decided to leave. Hopefully, we can persuade Grant Holt to stay as well. I have been disappointed by his attitude to the club recently considering the support he has always got from the fans, including player of the season awards. When he was scoring lots of goals the Norwich fans were very vocal in backing him for England and to then see him react with wanting a transfer makes me question why we bothered giving him that support.
Playing Devil's advocate but I can see Holt's point. He will know that tossers like Barton are on four times his wage for his efforts to get his side relegated. So you can understand him thinking that he might command a higher figure.I am not generally in favour of mega salaries whether it be for footballers, pop stars or businessmen but this is the road that the modern capitalist economy has led us down.No doubt some will argue that it's the best system ,or at least the least worst one.A bit sad really as IMHO you can have a great life on an annual income rather less than Barton earns in a week.
Cruyff, I think you make a very good point. From a similar angle- Holt contributed a higher percentage of our points last season than any other player for any club, including RVP. I don't think it's exaggerating to say that he has been a large part of making us millions and at the back of his mind must wonder whether he deserves a slightly bigger chunk
If it is money it makes no sense to let him leave.Depending of course on how much money.Holt could certainly justify being the top paid Norwich player.
