Shad Khan met up with Slavi (and presumably his associates) before training at Motspur Park this morning.

No doubt this was some sort of welcome get together. However, the relevance of the transfer window was surely also on the agenda!?

PS Was going to put in a caption to the picture - "Mr Khan explains there is a transfer embargo" - but that would have been churlish.

Chief Football Bloke, Mr Bigg, has just released the following statement regarding the current transfer window.

It has come to my attention that the belief seems to have arisen that Fulham is under some form of transfer embargo. I don't mind admitting that this has come as news to me and I should like to take this opportunity to point out that Fulham is not, in fact, under any form of transfer embargo. I believe this misunderstanding has come about because the words Fulham, Transfer & Embargo have all been used next to one another in various national newspapers, on TV, social media, the internet in general and casual conversations down the pub.

Putting these words next to one another is easily done, I have just done it myself, but just because the words are next to one another in the same sentence doesn't mean that it is a true statement. For example Fulham sign Christiano Ronaldo are just 4 words that, taken out of context when put next to one another, give the impression that we have just signed Christiano Ronaldo, when we clearly won't. I must stress that this isn't because we can't but due to the fact that we simply don't want to. I believe, in my capacity as Chief Football Bloke, that he is not our sort of player and he's never really lived up to all that hype anyway.

So in conclusion, I hope I have cleared up any misunderstanding about our ability to buy players in this transfer window. It's not because we are under any sort of formal FA imposed embargo, a laughable idea given how well the finances of our club are handled by our Chief Money Bloke, but because I don't think there is anyone out there worth having and have therefore decided that we don't want to take part in the current transfer window.

    Thank you and goodnight.

Fulhaman, your conversations with Mr Bigg remind me of the "Dear Bill" letters in Private Eye.

(with apologies for those not yet in their second childhood)

My only point is that I think Jokanovich looks like he's thinking that a billionaire shouldn't have a pony tail!

Thanks for the clarification Chief Football Bloke.

And meanwhile Mr Khan has some encouraging words for Moussa - about two-thirds through this not very animated and clearly on-purpose, heavily edited video clip provided by the Club:

I guess the good news behind the scenes is that Moussa is still training with us.

Interesting body language, Khan's arms cross almost immediately and looks like he got a bit locked in for the rest, Joka keeps his behind his back almost throughout. I'm no expert but I'd take it as Khan being the anxious one and Joka feeling pretty secure in his position - black and white positioning - very Fulhamish.

We all know Mr big "useless" is still at the helm but do we still have the multitude of
hopeless coaches, advisers, etc, now our new manager/coach has arrived.

Yup - if you have a look at the video clip of Slavi's first interview in the 'Sheffield Wed (FA Cup)' thread they are all there - except the Man in the Astrakhan Coat.

From the Desk of Fulham FC's Chief Football Bloke:

Dear Sir or Madam (but probably Sir because let's be honest - girls in senior management positions - ha!)

It has been bought my attention by several of the playing squad that Fulham has a set of useless coaches. Clearly this situation cannot continue. We are a premiership club and set very high standards indeed (any rumours you may have heard about us not being in the premiership are scurrilous, slanderous and maybe even libellous, although they may contain vague traces of the truth in as much as, whilst we are, and will remain for the foreseeable future, a premiership club we are not currently, actually, playing in the premiership).

But I digress. Useless coaches the players have said so I therefore would request that in future you supply us with your super executive class coaches. Ones with toilets, DVD players, Sat Nav, moveable arm-rests and those drop down tables for on-board snacks. A black and white paint job would be good if possible. I will supply you with a DVD of me giving a stirring speech and it can play on a loop during the journey to gee the players up prior to the game. That will be almost certain to bag us the three points and will prove to the players that I know what a good coach looks like.

Thank you for co-operation in this matter

    Yours Faithfully

    Chief Football Bloke.
