    NEWCASTLE UNITED will not sell Moussa Sissoko before deadline day but are likely to lose their star midfielder in the summer.

    Both Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in Frenchman, who arrived on Tyneside two years ago from Toulouse.

    New Magpies manager John Carver said in the week he hoped Sissoko would stay at St James' Park and the Daily Star Sunday has today revealed the boss has gotten his wish.

    Neither Liverpool nor Arsenal will come in with a late bid for the 25-year-old and instead are happy to wait six months to strike out a deal.

    It is thought the rush to sign players on deadline day has deterred both clubs, as the Gunners focus on Mario Mandzukic's capture from Atletico, while the Reds eye a late offer for Real Madrid's Fabio Coentrao.

    Sissoko is valued at £16million and has previously stated he would jump at the chance of joining Paris Saint-Germain if the Ligue 1 champions came calling.

    £16million? I think MA would be insulted.

    £10m or less would be insulting but £16m would be decent for MA (anything is terrible for us as we know he wont be replaced). I think he's worth somewhere between the two.
