Does anyone know where you stand legally using these unmarked roads? I can save about 10 miles by joining the M4 at the services rather that travelling to the proper junction. As far as i know services are on private land, so you can't be violating the highway code and get fines/points from the highway authority if you get caught. And if there is any dispute it would be a civil matter?
