NEWCASTLE United have announced a special ticket offer for next Sunday’s home clash with Stoke City.

The match, which coincides with Mother’s Day – March 10 – will feature a members-only Family Day Out package.

That means members buying two adults tickets get two junior tickets for the Stoke game free – so a family of four can watch the match from just £50.

United manager Alan Pardew said: “With our European commitments next week, we were aware the game was moving to Mother’s Day.

“It is great the club have recognised the significance of the day and moved to make it an affordable day out for families.

“The club are so important to so many people in this city and a match is probably more of a family-orientated day out here than it is anywhere else in the country.

“We hope as many families as possible are able to come along to the game and fingers crossed we can send them home happy again.”

The club have already been named as the cheapest day out in the Premier League as part of the BBC’S independent Price of Football study published in October 2012, with a ticket, programme, pie and cup of tea starting from as little £23 – more than £100 cheaper than a match day can cost at rival clubs.

Just came across this from the Ronnie. Hope any families taking advantage of the offer enjoy it and see a good win.

    FREE TICKETS!

Does this mean they can't use that to have a dig at us anymore or will they knock them back as it is highly embarrassing?

CHEAPEST DAY OUT IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!

No wonder they have 50k crowds every week when they are able to afford a match day with their Giro.

An honest assessment of mine would be:

I think it's great what they are doing for mothers day by giving kids free tickets and it's also fantastic for the Newcastle supporters that it is the cheapest day out. I've never knocked us for our cheap/free tickets and I certainly wont be doing it to them.

They have a lot of social problems in Newcastle though. Most don't celebrate Mothers Day as their mothers ran off before they were born.

Hope they don't need the fathers name and address. Otherwise might be a crowd in excess of 8,000 max.

If all the mothers do take up the offer, the average age of the crowd will drop to around 13.

Spot on mate but then the filth have always used our family and inclusive ticketing policy to ridicule and berate us.

I too think its about time other clubs followed our lead and made tickets available for all, including free tickets for kids and I also wont be giving them stick for doing so but I tell you something else mate.

Not one of the scummers will come on here and admit we were right in the first place now.

It is a brilliant idea. However my first thought was why would I want to subject my mother, the woman who gave me life, to abject, dire performances from the toon. Fortunately I read the whole thing. Family inclusiveness is a fantastic idea.
