The BBC's usual MOTD3 feature has predicted the Premier League table for next season:

    First up it's Alan Shearer:

I suppose he could hardly resist relegating Sunderland this season, but still interesting to see we at least survive another season in his eyes, albeit to then finish bottom next season.

    Pat Nevin:

Again, Sunderland to go down which is surprising, as he's got less reason to be biased. We also stay up next season, which makes him comfortably my favourite pundit right now.

So I make that we're certain to survive with a 50% chance of going down next season? That'll do!

i wonder when they were done, before this weekends games. i'd take that
shearer really dislikes us, you can tell from his 'expert' analysis on MOTD. rarely has a good word to say about us, in fact he's taken over the mantle from Lawro. so, he predicts we'll stay up but finish below all 3 promoted teams next season <doh>

How predictable of the pundit's, the three teams that get promoted are in the bottom 4. It's the same crap every season, no skill in that at all! I wonder how much they get paid to come up with that?

£50,000 a programme if you believe reports. Money for old rope.

If I got £50,000 per programme I'd spend it on something more sensible than old rope!

I'd find a use for the old rope with at least three of them.......

I was going to try to make a joke about giving people enough rope.............but I guess that would be in bad taste?

Pat Nevin is three times the pundit Alan Shearer us to be honest.

It's a pointless prediction anyway, so many things can happen between now and when the season starts.

Honestly *if* we stay up next season, I think things will be much better than that. Either Hughton will improve us to a lower mid-table side, or if he doesn't we will get in someone who can.

Dangerous Marsupial, did you get your name off the kangeroo fight on Mighty Boosh?

Following on from what you said, there is nothing i want more than not having to change manager and to be successful next season and onwards. I hope it happens, at the moment i have my doubts though. I am sure majority of posters on here are in the same boat

Shearer doesn't hate us per se - I thought it is pretty obvious he hates Hughton.
