The Commentator on MOTD said it was "definitely a penalty". I really do despair at the state of the game.
It's worrying what football is becoming. The honour in the game is disappearing when a player isn't roundly lambasted for cheating. It really wasn't that long ago that it wasn't acceptable to throw yourself to the floor and staying on your feet to show your opponent you're not hurt was the norm. I know the lower leagues are **** but at least men are men there.
If that was a pen, every game would be a basketball score. Ive preferred watching lower league games than the PL for a long time. I watch lots of ice hockey, if a player goes down, even when punched in the face, he will get a penalty for it. Its nice to watch a game not littered by cheats. Ive loved a ref we had last season, he simply would not give a foul unless it was GBH, it ended up being a great game played by 22 men and not decided by the ref. It used to be, if in doubt, give nothing. Now its, if in doubt give it to the big team.
Even Viv Anderson and Lou Macari on ManU TV said it was three wrong decissions in a matter of seconds. But that ****** Paddy McCrerand excused it with "we've had decissons gone against us so it evens out"
It was not the MOTD commentator, it was Jonathan Pearce. The MOTD lads were clear that Young cheated.
Just caught up with Fergie's post-match interview. "It [the offside, the penalty for a dive and the sending-off] didn't help us at all." Crafty old fox.
What really grips my **** is that Derry got sent off, (and they got a pen) for doing nothing! Yet Rooney earlier in the game hacked Diakite from behind and not even a yellow. If that had been the other way around Diakite would of been yellowed. Mason then gave them a free kick when Diakite went for the ball on the edge of the box and ( can't remember who it was went down like a sack of **** ) Mason couldn't wait to give a free kick. The game is rotten to the core and needs sorting out. Young should be banned for a year, he is a total disgrace.
Derry showed that there are still some real men in the Prem. Handed over his captain's band and just walked off. In his position I would have gone f**king mental.
I wonder what John Terry would have called Young if he had been in Derry's position? Sorry, too obvious.
All credit goes to Derry for walking off and creating a fuss. They have no grounds to refuse to rescind the red card. Derry was a model pro and didnt react. personally I'd have got the right hump..!
Astonishingly biased commentary by Pearce!!! However credit to Robbie savage who was spot on and told it as it was!
Pearce is the worst commentator by a country mile! He always gets the big calls wrong and he didn't disappoint again on this one!! He tries to be outspoken, but unfortunately, when you have such limited football knowledge you end up looking like a TWAT!
