You could argue that there are a few who deserve a mention here. For instance, Aaron ramsey is getting back to his pre-injury form, Andre Santos is already a different player to the fat, useless lump we signed a few months back, Theo Walcott now seems able to beat people, etc. But for me, the award goes to Laurent Koscielny. Don't forget, this is only his 3rd season of top flight football, and he has quietly gone about being a commanding prescence in our back 4. For me, he's one of the first names on the team sheet now, and his versatility has been a lifesaver too, he seems a solid right back too.

Do you agree, or does someone else get your vote?

    Song?

I remember some people saying he was a waste of space, who couldn't defend or attack and kept giving the ball away.

That's certainly not the case now.

Walcott. His runs have almost always had purpose to them this season and he's become a lot more consistent for it, playing well against nearly every defence he's come up against. He just needs to improve his decision making, for example you're better off shooting than trying to gift Gervinho an open goal :D He just over thinks it, whereas as instinctive strikers know when they're going to shoot in a split second.

To be fair, I think this is a description of Walcott a year and a half ago. He has come on leaps and bounds since then too.

I've never seen him so consistent, even last season. I think I worded the bit about his decision making wrongly. I only meant to refer to in the box, outside of it he's making very good decisions.

His whole game has come on in the last year or so, he was scoring quite regularly last season too. The thing that a lot of people forget is that Walcott has had lots of injuries to overcome, including operations on both shoulders. It's not surprising that he's only just starting to become the player he was always touted to be and he's still only just 23.

Walcott still has his moments of madness... remember the glorious opportunity he squandered against Everton? He needs to cut those errors out.

You mean the one where he made the right decision to square it across for a much easier opportunity. That pass made a goal a certainty all it needed was Gervinho to react and hit the ball. Him shooting from there was not a certainty. I'll praise that decision time and time again, because it was the correct one.

Sorry but I have to disagree! Sometimes he needs to learn to be a bit more selfish and shoot on sight IMO!!!

I still think we look considerably more vulnerable with Koscielney in the middle than when we play Vermaelen there.

Walcott is a good shout for most improved.

Koscielny for me. Compared to his first season he's been a rock. Walcott has improved too.
I hope to be saying the same for Ramsey next season. He still needs to improve quite a bit.

Koscielny can't win it for me. He has constantly improved and is a fantastic player - easily one of the first on the team sheet.

However, he was great last season just with a few errors that people judged him on. Against Barca last year he put in one of the best defensive displays i have ever seen. And he was the best player after Sagna in our back line last year.

Walcott for me was also good last season but he seems to be comming on leaps and bounds.

Szczesny for me has also improved alot since last season.

Firstly he's not "easily one of the first on the team sheet". With a fully fit defence he makes the bench.

Also I wish fans would stop saying our defence did well last season but it's completely untrue.
We conceded 43 league goals, thats pretty damn poor.

I didn't say anything about our defence doing well as a whole - but individualy Koscielny and Sagna where very good last season. Koscieny got alot of unwarranted criticism.

And secondly with a fully fit defence Koscielny should still play imo. He has been one of our most consistent players this season and one of our best. Is great at CB or RB. For me a middle two of TV/Kosc is the best we have (at least until Mert is more settled).

I think a TV-Mert parternship is good but the way Koscielny has been playing i can't see him being dropped even with a fully fit team.

He's a good player but I think TV/Kos partnership lacks balance (and height for that matter).

Mert vs TV makes more sense but I do wonder Why Wenger keeps picking Djourou as a right back when koscielney has looked better in this position.

    I'd give it to Kos.

Not a fan of Song so he doesn't get it.

most improved - has to be RVP.
in previous seasons he has been injured and therefore been hit and miss. Not so now !!
