I've never understood the whole Middle-East, Israel/Palestine stuff. As far as I can make out, the question of who was there first all depends on how far back in history you go? It was Jewish then Roman then Muslim then the Turks had it for a few centuries then Britain gave it to the Jews again? **** knows, not that interested really. Although these "Jewish Settlers" who get Palestinians evicted from houses they've been in for 5 or 6 generations because they think they've got "the right" to live there are utter ****s if you ask me. What the ****s that all about!?

Thats what I'm getting at TN8 - forcing those folk from there home when they're families have lived there the last 100 years!! Imagine people saying the World has decided to give your land to the Sikhs for instance. You'd be ****ing raging. TBF the Palestinians were sorted out with cash for moving but Israel started demanding more & more of the land, thats when the Yanks started supporting them & the British walked away hoping nobody was watching!! The rest of europe only agreed to Israel being formed because no **** likes the jews Britain & America supported them because they felt guilty for doing **** all to help them until millions were dead. Britain had meeting to join up with the Nazis ffs. It was only when your man abdicated that talks stalled & the agreement dropped. The yanks only got involved when they were bombed.

its not really suprising though is it brum, these were the same sort of people who decided how to divide india and pakistan in a month and that bloke hadnt even been there before! if the palestinians made up a decent part of the electorate and had a solid lobbying body in the US/UK/West then they would be supporting them and not israel

The land split was one thing LR, but Israel started boming Palestinians out of their homes to get more land!! Thats what the fighting is about, not the original land split. As I said Palestine were given millions & millions of pounds to agree to the split, there problem came when Israel terrorists started a campaign of car bombing to force them out of their homes & towns & simply took over that town one by one, eventually Israels army joined in which forced the Palestinians to fight back. When they fought back the US funded Israel with supplies of weaponery to assist....leaving millions of palestinians living in refugee camps. Google maps of the split in 1950's to the current layout of that area to see how much more land has been stolen!! Its like Scotland & England agreeing to a border then England slowly burning folk out their homes in the Dumfries region & working their way up till Scotland is just Glasgow & Edinburgh.
Why didnt they just send the jews to the Falklands? Then the Argies would have had a valid reason for invading.
its not as clear cut as that brum (probably the understatement of the century), the arab states surrounding israel attacked israel when it was founded (after the UK ****ed off because they couldnt control jewish terrorists, plus after WW2 they probably couldnt be arsed) and a real partition was only agreed after they'd been fighting each other for a couple of years. they then used attacks from palestinians as an excuse to seize land to solve the problems caused by 100,000's of random jews turning up every year. then the egypt syria and jordan were getting ready to get rid of them so they launched the 6 day war, pushing away the forces amassed along their borders. then someone somewhere went "hang on a minute, we've just seized lots of land GIRFUY!". i have to agree that israel itself is responsible for more of the problems than the palestinians (who got shafted by the arab states as well as israel over the 6 day war) but as soon as you suggest this you're an anti semite (the palestinians are semites as well ffs!) plus all they'll do is get the tora out and go "page 367 paragraph 4 subsection e. god says we can live here". ****ers
