I heard a nice piece on the radio today about how Ireland is the 2nd most generous nation when it comes to charity. They are 2nd only to the US but I wouldn't read too much into that as they have an incentive driven system of charitable donations where they get tax breaks or have things named after them. There were 3 categories - donating money, donating time and helping a stranger so it seems that the Irish love a good charitable cause.
The Americans loved to donate to the Irish, especially funds for their "freedom fighters" <ohgodnotanotherIrishthreadsmiley>
I thought the UK would be top, all the waifs and strays from all over the world come here to claim benefits.
Sam - it was on Five Live this morning - UK came out very well too. I never thought I'd do this but: Eddie
