Leeds are locked in a fight to sign Wolves' Kevin Doyle. Both Leeds and Scottish Champions Celtic have been confirmed as the front runners for the talented 29 year old forward. Although neither club have yet made a formal offer, Doyle is expected to make a move to one of these two clubs in the Summer.

McDermott has confirmed that Ian Harte will NOT be returning to Elland Road. I think Leeds missed a trick by not re signing him when he returned from Italy when we were in League 1, instead going to Carlisle. Although his pace was not great, he proved to be more than capable, especially switching him to centre back if playing against pacy wingers.

Lees played no part in the U21 loss against Italy last night. Lees was an unused substitute in the 1-0 loss.

Kewell is back in Football. The 34 yo smumbag has siogned a one year contract with A-league side Melbourne Heart. Lets hope he stays there...

Morning!! Think the hype over the U21s was a bit OTT, tournament football is very different to spanking someone at Walsall on a Tuesday night. Doyle will go to Celtic, Champs Lge, lots of goals to score in SPL which frankly is no better than Lge One. Instant hero!! Warnock still rabbiting on about how Leeds only need to add two or three to an already magnificent squad, and Brown still a high class player. Oh please shut up Colin!! Kewell should go and live in Istanbul, seeing as he went there for "footballing reasons" and "not money". What a muppet!!

    Morning Billy,

Well said about Kewell. With the civil unrest in the Country, and their animal mentality, how on Earth are they part of Europe???

Amazing how we have 2 ex players who were part of a brilliant team, who get such different press from the fans. Harte should have been snapped up years ago, but was seen as slow and past it, but those people were wrong. He instead went to Carlisle and scored a hat full of goals every season. He even ended up top scorer whilst there scoring over 20 goals .... yes in the same season those 20 goals would have seen Leeds gain automatic promotion from LEAgue 1. How can someone so slow be Readings player of the year and help to get them promoted to the prem. He was a better dead ball specialist than Beckham. As for Kewill, he's a bastard.

Oh and by the way, I haven't been on here for a few weeks because I had a heart attack playing golf 8-weeks ago. Survived it thanks to the LGI and going back to work next week.

Morning Elland, morning all those joining. What's a 34 year old SMUMBAG by the way? 34 year old Scumbag certainly, but not sure I understand the term SMUMBAG? On Harte, I agree albeit with the benefit of hindsight that we did miss a trick when we were in L1. C'est la view. We ended up with that ex Swansea class act whose name I can't even remember instead. Lucky us hah??

On Brown Billy, I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this. Every team needs someone who'll put his foot in & get a fair few bookings. Such is the way. I hope he'll be used more this coming season as a replacement for Austin after an hour or so to shore up the midfield when we're winning. If BMD can get Brown to stay on his feet a bit more, we'll start to appreciate his effort more. He's like that guy we had on loan from Coventry for a while. Nothing very glamourous, but we saw what happened when he wasn't there to break up opposition attacks.

Roll on later this month when we get the fixture list out.

Hey Doc, glad to hear you're better. Take it easy dude!! Boggers, yes I'm with you on Brown, problem is he only has two good performances a season left in him. He kicks even more now because he can't catch players anymore, and that's no good for us. Not going to contribute to a promotion season.

    Morning all <ok>

Jesus Doc! Hope your recovering well. I had a few scares this year with the old ticker. I've had a couple of ECG's that have revealed nothing but I'm not too sure. Years of abuse when I was a pup I guess.

Anyway, glad to here your on the road to recovery and great to see you posting again.

    and Morning!

Off to Leeds today (daughter lives there) so in a good mood. Just have to decide which city centre restaurant to try out tonight. Anyone been to that new one in the new shopping centre, called the Alchemist? Looked pricey, but interesting. Anyone know if its any good?

Fair point Billy. I think he's got more than a couple of good games left in him and that he will contribute plenty to the promotion push this season. That said, I think Austin will be our main CM this season, as I think with the Jamaica game having taken place, he might actually get a bit of a break.

What do we think of the new gold training top on the OS?

I got a feeling we will use something similar to that for a third kit this season.

I'm here, morning all. Had an early work appointment this morning so just checking in now. What do you lot make of this rumpus with our vice chairman trying to get a friend kid into the academy. Not so sure it'll be a great idea selling pieces of the club to all and sundry if this is the type of crap we can expect. Glad to see doc is ok. Playing footie on Wednesdays myself trying to keep the ticker moving. Bloody pains everywhere else this morning so not sure if it's a great idea

Eire, as with other areas of life, its often not what you know as who you know. So a kid with ambitions to be a professional footballer finds out his uncle or whoever is vice chairman of a massive football club, why wouldn't that vice chairman at least try to get him a trial. That the academy told the kid he wasn't good enough should tell the kid and/or his uncle to give up or try somewhere else. Strikes me as a bit of a non story really. Any excuse for the press to blow things out of the water. Hopefully Haigh will smooth the waters a bit and we can move on to more serious matters.

    Hope you're ok Doc.
Converted my garage into a gym 5 years ago now - religiously use it twice a day for an hour a time. Would advise anyone to do the same.
Started off with just a punch bag, boxing gloves and a skipping rope, added to it over time. Now has a large selection of weights, treadmill (for the Mrs) an airwalker, and most importanly, a flat screen tv. When me and the Mrs are both in there, she moans like **** about football on the tv, so the punchbag gets a rest <ok>

I got a heavy bag as well (not the mrs smart arse) and I feel the benefit of that more than anything else <ok>

Moving buildings tomorrow (working from home this week anyway) and they have a gym built in there. And a bar. Ying and yang and all that!

I use the punchbag more than anything else too - does help having either good music or sport on in the background. The punchbag got a very good workout during the playoff final <ok>
