It's based on keeping within touching distance of the playoffs Jonny, enough to average 10k extra fans above that which was probably budgeted by GFH, with no more signings before the next transfer window in January, so no extra wages above budget. So an extra 10k x 12 home matches @ average £25 per ticket = £3m surplus to original pre season budget to be spent on transfers in January transfer window
Irish me old mate ... stat for you ... if you drank 17 pints of cider, you'd have a headache for two days!!
I don't drink cider anymore Billy, unless I have to, I'm back to the ale that I started on when I was 16ish...
I am a bit of a pisshead... but to fair Jock it's sometimes been better to be peed watching the matches than sober...
But you ignored my point, neither Cardiff or Hull had those type of goalscorers in their squads either but they got promoted automatically. I think Cardiff's top goalscorer was Whittingham on around 11 and Hull's was Aluko on around 12. Yet Blackburn had Rhodes who scored 28 goals but they were nowhere near promotion, the game is about more than having a 20 goal a season striker.
At the present rate we are on course to score 46 goals and concede 23. A gd of +23 would be good enough to get you up most years if you gather the required points. Stop talking out of your hat. Lets see how BMC has the team set up after 10 games and then we will have a clue on how we are going to get on.
On a positive though, we were awful second half of last season and still only missed playoff shy seven points I think. Surely having a far better manager in mcd has to be worth an extra nine points in itself
Elland you lazy twaht get out of bed and get the thread started. Just cos houses are selling again is no excuse for idleness.
No, you don't know how many goals the team are capable of scoring, its easier to predict what one player might score but you cannot predict how many a team will score.
Perhaps closer to 2m once you take into account VAT at 20% and extra costs assosciated with bigger crowds. Also I doubt we'll keep up 30k a week, average will either drop or the average ticket price will drop to keep crowds high. Great to have the extra revenue and of course it'll help, but I'd not be gambling on players being brought in solely on the back of them, especially when wages for the potential signings are brought into it too.
