    Morning Troops,

It was all going so well, we were on course to go top of the table, and Millwall were bottom, then suddenly we come crashing down to Earth with a big thud...

Its easy to associate blame, especially but it seems both goals were set up when the tangerine forwards got beyong young full back Sam Byram. Warnock was more critical of the attacking players in the squad. Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, ,em>"I thought the front four were poor tonight, and I have told them. They need to hold the ball up more away from home."As good as they were against Wolves on Saturday I thought they were poor tonight. If you cannot hold the ball up you are always going to struggle away from home and we did not do it at all.".

Leeds have had a shocking record away from home since winning promotion to the championship in 2010 and much of the bad form was put down to the players fitness but Warnock says the defeat was not down to this but bad habits with experienced player Luke Varney coming in for the most criticism. "Fatigue doesn`t stop Luke Varney from whacking it away, instead of turning round and dribbling in his own box. That is just bad habits and at this level, you get punished.

Colin put the loss down to 'individual errors and poor ball retention', but he claimed Leeds were at risk of being handicapped by a lack of depth in their own squad.
Warnock also said he was working on the “assumption that we’re not bringing anyone in” during the remaining 9 day FIFA transfer window.

With a proposed takeover of United still to reach completion, Warnock’s hinted that his existing budget would make further additions to his squad difficult.

    OTHER NEWS

Former Leeds United trialist Sebastian Faure has signed for Scottish side Glasgow Rangers. The 21 year old played in Leeds 2-0 win at Alfreton Town during pre-season.Faure is a free agent after being released by top French Ligue 1 side Lyon at the end of last season

Morning Elland. Most worrying thing for me now is the realisation the takeover is unlikely to happen quickly enough, if at all, to give Colin any resources to strengthen. Frankly, I'm worried if we pick up any significant number of injuries and unable to sign any further quality, our season could be over by Christmas. So frustrating given that we still average 22k at home, we cant compete with Blackpool financially. The Peterborough game is huge but if a defeat would hurry Bates out the door, I'd nearly take that. Will we ever be able to concentrate on the on field stuff again rather than the boardroom ****e

    Morning

Piss poor tactics on Warnock's behalf -

Gray asked the guy sitting next to him at half time "Can you remember Norris touching the ball?" - We had Brown on the bench

I saw the goals this morning - second was Byram going to ground missing an attempted cut out of a pass, simple cross and simple tap in.

Makes me livid that for the first time in YEARS we have a decent RB and LB combo and what does NW do - Leaves who he described as the best LB in the division on the bench and plays the RB out of position

Complains about Varneys performance yet leaves him on and replaces McCormack - FFS I thought we had put these type of debates behind us after Grayson left

Too many performances like this and too many idiotic tactics and I really can see NW out of a job by Christmas - I can take a defeat but not the manner it was inflicted.

Now that Bates sees that we are not as good as he expected, he may want to sign the contract sooner rather than later??. Morning btw

    Morning ristac,

Im baffled too why McCormack was taken off, unless he was carrying a knock? He certainly likes Byram, maybe a little too much!!!!

Morning all, a bit depressing last night and this morning. Agree about the tactics of putting Peltier on the left side when we had Drury a proper left back, which then puts young Sam in the line of fire. White playing ride side wasn't brilliant, yet Varney and Sam stay on and Ross goes off. head scratching stuff, but lets wait and see what he does next.

Big worry now is that its unlikely we bring in anyone else, and have Pugh to fit in somewhere, because we picked up another 2 yellows last night, making 6 so far. So injuries and suspensions is going to cripple this make weight squad.

Plus point from last night, was Paddy in goal, and still looking more solid as a unit. Last seasons team would have got mullered again by this Blackpool side. Its a work in progress and early doors yet. 2 tough games to start with against teams who should be in the mix, so maybe not all doom and gloom, as long as the players listen and learn, because last nights stats don't make easy reading. Blackpool 20 shots against our 5 and Blackpool with 60% of the play. Either Blackpool are champions elect and we're relegation material - or we just didn't show up last night.

Morning all. Bit of a reality check last night. But remember, Blackpool were play off finalists a few weeks ago & have more or less the same team. We have a lot of new players still getting used to each other. Not sure why Drury didn't start. Carrying a slight knock?

Saturday should show where we really are. I know we're away from home & its a bit worrying that we haven't sold our allocation yet. If we win, the mood music will improve. If we lose, the atmosphere will not be good. Fingers crossed

It's only the 2nd league game the lads have played in together , a bit of time to gel together will sort us.

    Morning all <ok>

I wasn't anywhere near the internet or a radio last night so missed the coverage, but after seeing we were 1-0 up after 16 minutes I was a bit surprised to see we lost it in the end. Obviously I can't comment having not seen/heard any of it, but from what you guys are saying some of the tactics seem a little bit dodgy.

I was hoping NW had got the idea of playing Aidy as a RW out of his system at the start of this season, when I saw the team sheet on BBC I thought we had gone:

    --------------kenny---------------
    pelts---lees------pearce---white
    byram--norris---austin--varney
    ------rosco-----becchio---------

Purely because it looked as though Byram had been pushed up to RM when Lees came on against Wolves.

But anyway as Dublin & Boggers said, it's only the second game of the season and against a strong Blackpool team, so I'm not going to lose too much sleep over it

    Another BIG question from me....

Pugh transfer listed - Brown isn't, he signed a new contract yet when it is time to make a change we bring Pugh on ahead of Brown????

Again the kind of decision making I thought we had done away with once Grayson had left. I was forever bemused why we would sign players and leave them on the bench while loan players took their place.

If Pugh is ahead of Brown in the pecking order why offer Brown a new contract and transfer list Pugh, shocking way of knocking a players confidence and lowering team moral. I would have rather Warnock played the other transfer listed player Rogers.

My only guess on that is that Warnock sees Pugh as a more valuable asset to cash in on, i.e he's hoping to get money for him rather than let him go on a free which he would have done with Brown. Therefore, until he goes I suppose he figures he might as well take advantage of the fact that he is a bit more versatile than Brown and can fill in in more positions.

I agree with what you're saying about it lowering morale and it would definitely have an effect, but until he can bring more players in I suppose we just need to use the players that are available regardless of whether or not he is hoping to cash in on them in the near future

IF the T/O happens either now or before the Jan transfer window I can see NW selling McCormack if he can find a replacement - I don't think NW likes McCormack too much and I think the sale of Snoddy forced him to keep McCormack knowing full well that he wouldn't receive all the funds from a sale to replace him. New contract will have boosted his sale value as well together with a Scotland cap and goal the other week - you see...

I thought a lot of it was Warnocks fault too, but I also believe the lack of a flair player was a problem!

when Blackpool went to 4 up front we shouldnt have tried to contain them we should have gone for the counter making them cautious about attacking us, Warnock took Ross off and sat back n watched them come at us over and over poor tactics by the manager!!

A team that was in the Prem a few seasons ago. Playoff final last year? Clearly a bigger wage structure, financial capabilities and better players than us?

Why should we be outplaying teams like Blackpool?

On what basis do you earn the right to be better than Blackpool? Because it certainly isn't based on fanbase or being a bigger club. You are where you are through merit. We've been poorly managed for several seasons and Warnock is now trying to rectify it.

Matt Phillips and Tom Ince will rip any of the teams in this league apart.

Sick of this depressive dribble that Leeds fans have

HELLO new user here. Leeds shouldn't go up with Warnock anyway, he is a longball merchant. Even if we somehow get promoted, we will be in a relegation battle and probably sent back down again straight after. We should develop a style of playing like Swansea, bring in players that can keep the ball and play football in the right way. Leeds of the Revie era could pass teams to death, I would like Leeds to try and play a similar way again. We need a revolution in the whole set up, bring in new manager and new coaches that want to play that way, and however long it takes build a team that can play that way

    Welcome,

Warnock is a long ball merchant and we have seen that but he is also the most successfull manager in this league and hes only got an 18 month contract for a reason, get us up this time and then retire from football on a high. then replace him with someone better who can get us playing decent stuff :)

Morning!! Blackpool are very good team, and they have a bloody good manager. They are consistent, have Prem experience and a stable squad who have played together for a while. This is a serious promotion contender we lost to, but at least we were streets better against them than we were last season. Byram is going to be a super player for Leeds, and he is learning in the heat of battle which is good. Warnock used the players he did most probably because of fitness issues. I expect Drury to be playing soon, but only if he is fully recovered. Can't see Warnock risking him just because. Not many teams will go to Blackpool and get points, and we have the chance to beat them at home and redress the balance. I'll take three points against Blackpool this season ta very much. Warnock knows what he's doing. Ross wasn't contributing and deserved to be pulled, so no issues there. It shows that Colin will shake players up. Also liked how he didn't defend his players a la Grayson. How many times did we get hammered and Grayson would be saying he was pleased with how his lads had given their all and how unlucky they were. Not Warnock! He told it as he saw it, and even singled out culprits. Good on him. I still feel Leeds will be up there, we win't be playing Blackpool every week and we will be strong at home, all plusses for me. MOT!!!!
