    Morning everyone

I felt like doing a morning all thread coz I'm bored (and without elland's permission coz thats how I roll)

As Elland said yesterday, the new owners appear to be Bahranian, I have heard similar rumours and it seems very likely to be true, and they can't announce the deal until a CEO is found.

Clayton has now officially joined Huddersfield, its a sad day from my point of view. Really rated Clayts and wish him all the best, he'll go on to be a prem player I think. I don't know how much the deal is worth but it'd have to be decent fee surely?

Who do you think we'll sign to replace him? There are a good few midfielders out there even on frees who are available, but will they be as good as Clayton? suppose its hard to say without knowing who Colin is looking at to replace him

How long do think it will be until the takeover is confirmed? Do you actually think it will free up that much money or just allow Colin to spend what the club is making by itself a bit more freely

I think it's fair to say even if club gets to spend its profit, it will make a huge difference. Crowds will climb back to the 30 mark meaning further spending power. Not fussed about Clayton one way or the other. As for him making it inn premiership, I doubt if huddersfield will get him there

Morning Eire, I doubt Hudders will get him to the prem but it'll surprise me if he either doesn't get promoted to the prem with a different team or after a few good seasons in the champ a team in the prem takes a risk and buys him. He shows good qualities and in a way I think he'd be better suited to the prem style more so than the championship

The thing about him is he always seems to have space when on the ball and also puts a foot in. Lack of consistency is his problem but he hasn't been in the first team at all at any club prior to this season so I think that is slightly expected and I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Uh well, hope we strengthen that area now

Warnock must have someone else lined up if he was happy enough to sell him.

    Morning Josh, Eire and Enoch,

Josh, you're such a rebel <laugh>. Great Morning thread <ok> Boggers kindly put his name forward for the CEO post. I'd be more than happy to 2nd him. I can't see what more a decent board like ours can do....

Must admit, I'm gutted by losing Clayton, especially to a local rival, and to one many of us would consider to be a lessor team

I know you lads see Clayton as one for the future, and he well may be. This might however signal a change in direction for us. No more signing young uns that may come good so we can sell them on. Instead, as with Warnocks targets so far this summer, buy the finished article so you know exactly what you're getting. Anyone we've been linked to have played at least a couple of hundred games at our level. I like that idea.

Eire, I can understand what you're saying, though I believe every team needs a blend of youth and experience, as they offer completely different attributes

As your new CEO in waiting, I'd just like to say morning all. Pity about Clayts going to a rival. I thought he would do better for us than he did. Got some fine goals, but never bossed the midfield as much as he should have done. Either way, I hope he gets a good reception on his return.

I like Clayton, but let's face it, Warnock was always here to build a team to get promotion in one season, and he knows the kinds of players he needs to do it.

Elland, if there is a press conference, its got to be better than the last one I did - emerging from an ex Russian prison cell to be greeted by flash bulbs & questions from people who make Jeremy Paxman look like an amateur. True story.... but only half the facts!!!

Morning all, from a very tired bucks.

Was going up to bed last night about 12, when I stepped in water. Yep, Terrapin tank has spung a leak. They are now holidaying in costa del bathtub whilst I sort out a new house or try and re-seal there tank <grr>

Gutted about Clayton. I hoped we could have sorted something out for the lad if Warnock didnt need to sell to buy.

Morning Bucks. Perhaps you should have cats instead. They hate water & are much easier to look after. Hope your missus doesn't now want a showere. Would hate to think of those porr Terrapins suffering at the hands of that well known terrorist VO5. Also reminds me of a well known song, but that's anoth story!!!

Morning all, gutted about Clayts, thought he'd end up staying. Clayton and Howson looked like they'd form a formidable partnership in the Leeds United midfield for years to come, now they're both gone, replaced by the likes of Paul Green and probably another ageing freebie.
Need some positive news re takeover ASAP!!!!

Morning all. Not a good one though is it? So yet again, we let another developing promising player leave and White no longer a Leeds player either.

Probably best if we abolish the academy completely. I just really hope Warnock has other (better) players lined up. He must do surely, and I hope to god it's because he knows a hell of a lot more than us about this takeover.

Wish we could get it out of way soon though, especially with pre season training starting next week. I'm a believer that we need just about all the squad in place for the last couple of friendlies so we know our real starting XI on the opening day, and I don't believe Grayson has been able to do that over the last couple of seasons.

You only have to look at Southampton last season and QPR before that to realise a good start is very important, especially with our start this time.

Well hopefully we'll hear something today but still remain cautiously optimistic.

    Morning all.

Gutted to see Clayton go. Combative, fairly skillful and even had a shot on him. Cant help think Bates saw it as the last opportunity to get cash in pocket. I wouldn't be surprised if any more incomings get sorted out after new leadership is confirmed so he doesn't have to front the bill!

Kind off mixed feelings about the potential takeover. Happy about the money coming in but unsure about the people behind it. Wasn't this the same royal family who killed its own 'peaceful protesters' early in the year? Just throwing in a new angle. Reminds me a bit like Thaksin Siniwatra at City. Although as far as I know it they are very much top of the tree in the country with no one to say any different.

C, one of the things said by LUST or LU (can't remember which) is that the new owners will pass the FPPT easily. So presumably who ever they are, they won't be the same questionable character as Shinawatra.
