    Morning All,

Its the end of an era, but we are not here to discuss Leeds-18, we are here to talk about Grayson, could be a blessing in disguise. If Warnock comes in, I cannot see him being a 'yes' man, he's gonna keep Bates on his toes. You never know, maybe Bates will actually give him money to spend....

Lots to discuss today, so over to you....

Morning Elland. Pity SG has gone, but results & performances weren't going our way. Papa Smurf''s comment yesterday about refusing to spend money on yet another CB, saying that the new man will have to get more out of what we've got speaks volumes, & that he will build the ground before the team. It tells us that whoever the new man is, there won't be any more money this season, that he will have to trim the squad before buying anyone else, & that he must be a good man-manager to get more out of what we've got.

I really can't see Warnock being a yes man for Bates. But we know he can deliver promotion & get more from players than many. Maybe he'll get the job, maybe he won't. I just start the day off hoping we really put Brizzle to the sword on Saturday, as much as a testemonial to SG as anything else.

    Morning all Leeds fans :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Warnock's track record speaks for itself but I can't see him lasting long with Bates around. Plus he hates Leeds and we hate him.

Maybe he could last out the rest of the season and get us promoted before he quits. That would be ideal then someone buys out Bates, we get a decent manager in, money to spend and..... oh who the **** am I trying to kid !!!!

That could have legs Cosmic. We'd be the ideal stepping stone until he's ready to **** us over and take on the Newcastle job.

Please no to Shearer, nearly (not quite) as bad as the Bruce or Keane rumours...

Shearer - Fine player, fine analyser, but not a Manager.
Bruce - Potentially a good choice. Would the knuckle-draggers ever get over who he used to play for? More to the point, would he be able to work with Papa Smurf? Probably a harder problem to resolve.
Keane - Not good enough, & unlikely to take us forward. Good player, but not good enough.
Warnock - Clearly a decent Manager. Only problem is, would he be able to work with Papa Smurf even until the end of the season? Really not sure. If he can, then get him quickly.

Does anyone think Bates will put his hands in his pocket in the emergency transfer window for a new centre back. What about trying Thompson at centre back???

Given that we have Bruce (& Bromby/AOB when fit), I doubt Bates will sanction yet another CB, especially as he apparently turned down Grayson's request for money for a new player in the the TW earlier this week.

Nah, 2 kids in the centre - too risky. We might lose goals! LOL. Seriously, no. Need a commanding CB (which we don't have). I just wonder if Paynter can do a job as CB? Seen a number of players converted from CF to CB & vice versa over the years. Worth a punt?

Interesting concept Jock. But BP isn't tall enough & isn't that great in the air.

    Morning all <ok>

Thompson as CB? No thanks! That was a problem of Graysons, trying to make players fit and although Thompson is on our books as a midfielder he was actually a right back for Everton I believe!

I wonder if Neil Redfearn could talk Gimpel into getting involved for the run in, maybe on the bench? After all Redfearn will know better than most if the kid is ready.

Paul Ince is also been linked with us <yikes>

With Redfearn in charge on Saturday, will be interesting if he brings in any more youngsters (O'Leary styly, who btw is unemployed at the moment). I'd love to see Monty Gimpel start a few games

    For you maybe mate <laugh>

I used to like him as an England player. Solid, loved a tackle & was commited but as a manager his record is shocking. Lost 9 in a row at Notts County I think!
