http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-families-hope-23-year-wait-justice-over.html I just hope the role of the FA in firstly appointing Hillsborough two years running and giving Forest the much larger end (and the influence of Clough, his dodgy ticket-selling and Masonic 'mates' in Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire police), and secondly the harrassment of Liverpool FC, and Kenny in particular, by the FA to get the semi-final played while we were still burying our dead. The overtones and reverberations of the FA's apalling judgements are still felt today in their handling of this club, as with the gutter press after they were proved to be utterly and totally wrong. No matter what the outcome though, let's see Oliver Holt give his exclusive perspective and insight, with 'actual' quotes from those involved, via text from his hotel room in Dubai, Fatty Samuel will ridiculously quote Chris Rock and James lawton will refer to the original Sun reports as being 'irrefutible' evidence that it was all the fans' fault. 96 'accidental' deaths - how the hell has it taken this long, and utter shame on our 'free' press and media for generating scandals. six-page back paper stories for months about friggin' relative triviaties of the Terry, Suarez, Barton and Ferdinand cases when they've sat on their fat, complacent, lazy, grubby arses taking backhanders from various clubs and owners when a REAL story has been in their face for over 23 years. JFT96. PS, tell us which officer destroyed the cctv tapes in the control room too - name NAMES!
I know we as fans have been criticized by some for somehow dragging this out, but its important, for the families in particular, to get answers and hopefully closure. I was 8 when this happened, and went to school in Sheffield. I remember two lads from my class were off school for weeks as they had gone to the game and saw it all happen. They were in bits time and time again thinking about it. They didn't lose anybody but it affected them for ages. For the victims families I can only imagine how painful and frustrating it must be knowing that you lost a loved one in a disaster that should never have happened and never knowing exactly how it was allowed to. I have heard people say there is no point in finding out "who", be it an organisation or whatever, is to blame, but getting all the facts out must do a world of help. I hope something positive comes out of this.
http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/42-questions-for-panel Let's hope they get the answers they've been fighting so hard for.
As said, I'd add to the 42 questions the crucial one of how far did the police investigation into the 'stolen' cctv tapes from a locked and secure control room go? They were given a crime number - what happened to the investigation? This is vitally, vitally important. What is the time statute for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice?
Massive can of worms donga, collusion between the forces of South Yorks Police and the investigating force of Nottingham Police, collusion between the Police and the Government. A concerted effort to put the blame on Liverpool supporters by the Conservative Press. Dukenfield allowed to retire early on a full pension and others afforded the same luxury, police officers changing the information in their diaries that was written in the aftermath of the disaster to suit the police conspiracy at the enquiry. All in all there's a ****load of criminal charges that were dodged by those in authority.
What a load of bollox. I hate that they're trying to deflect the blame from themselves now the walls are closing in on them.
No way will the blame start at the top, it will start way down the pecking order because even back then those at the top knew how to cover their arses.
It's a fact of British life that the blame is spread amongst the lowest common denominator. I am far from being an anti-police person in general life, in fact I have relatives and old schoolfriens who are in or have been in the police. If my daughter goes into the police (an option along with nursing atm) I'd be bursting with pride. BUT, my problem with Hillsborough has always been, from the very begining, that those responsible and handsomely paid for their 'expertise', such as police inspectors commanders, were the first in the queue to deflect any blame from themselves without a thought of the consequence of their actions. Nowhere is this more evident, and I'm sorry to keep banging on about it, that if the BBC had not been filming the gates when they were opened at the Leppins Lane End they would still be claiming the fans broke the gates down (after they conveniently disposed of their own cctv tapes) , and a compliant, complicit press would be unaminously supporting them. It's as if the whole fabric of society falls to bits if we question that if some people in society are rewarded more than others not on the basis of what they produce, but upon what they are responsible for; but that which they are responsible for can be evaded from if something goes wrong. Now think how many of our society are in that position. It's like shooting the surviving foot-soldiers for the mistakes of the general staff. Very British indeed. No wonder fat, lazy, complacent, well-paid journalists are their natural supporters.
