He did try your right. He was just not a very good footballer. Usually however the impact on the team is minimised but in this instance it was crucial he could actually kick a ball.

If by "our system" you mean football then I think you're correct.

No I genuinely have empathy I see the players as people with feelings. They move families here too that have to hear horrible things about their loved ones
