I think that this year will be a consolidation year maximising the budget after shaving a fair amount off from last year. With the players that have gone I was estimate we have shaved a good £1.5 million off the wage bill. Those bought in will be on or around £600-£1000 per week compared to the 3 year £3000 wages of yesterday. If it means that we have another couple of seasons in this godforsaken league to get to a good financial footing then it has to be so that we have a club for the future. Another good thing that might play in our favour is when players see how well the club is supported via BT Sport coverage..this could also have a positive effect of sponsors who are looking for national exposure via the media outlet.
Unless we get some investment like NH has suggested I hope we're not in it for as long as Luton and Grimsby
The valid point was made by Higgs today on the broadcast that the players and manager have had it spelt out to them that they are not too good for this league and we are here on merit and deserve to be here. Also he skirted quite well around getting other investors in and honestly does not like a man who's going anytime soon...thank goodness otherwise we will certainly be up a certain creek unable to afford the paddle to get us out of the conference.
