Yes, 5 games, 4 of those, or 80% of those games were against current bottom half teams ;)

ML had 24 from 24 with only 42% against current bottom half teams.

All relevant as the table does not lie as you are in the position you are in on merit.

Last seasons results are irrelevant to this season.

Therefore we are currently much worse of on a point ratio basis under monk due to the quality of opposition played ;)

Another little stat for you to consider. Of the 4 games against bottom half teams, 75% were at home.

Monk v Laudrup - Bottom half games 13/14 - Stoke City, West Ham United, Hull City, Norwich City, West Bromwich Albion, Crystal Palace, Sunderland, Cardiff City, Fulham

Slightly updated from recent stats, due to Villa and West Ham swapping.

    4 - 11 = played

    1 - 5 = won (25% - 45%)
    4 - 19 = points (33% - 57%)

    3 - 5 = played at home (75% - 45%)
    1 - 0 = lost at home (33% - 0%)
    4 - 9 = points at home (44% - 60%)

    1 - 6 = played away (25% - 54%)
    0 - 2 = lost away (0% - 33%)
    1 - 13 = points away (33% - 39%)

    That's interesting :)

No he cannot to a point I suppose, but then if I was manager, I would not be taking an in form Routledge off, who is the only player currently making half decent balls into the box. Also I would be taking Bony off after 55/60 minutes when he hadn't buried his chances, and would replace him with Emnes up front. and I definitely would not be leaving De Guzman on all game with his hit and miss performances, how often has he failed to take a corner past the first man?

And Finally if I was manager De Guzman would be sent back to Villarreal where he can sit on their bench and ponder what could have been, far to many passengers in our squad at present.

Garry Monk is a stop gap solution, anyone with an once of intelligence can see that, but his baptism of fire was to some extent self made, and I'm sure that as the season closes, our board and Chairman and indeed the Jack army will see clearly he is not the man for the long run. With reference to our current demise, it's clear our players attitude is one of, they are too good to go down, and that is at the heart of these lack luster shifts that we are putting in this season.

For the record I do not think we will go down, as there are at least 3 teams far worse than us, with a bigger mountains of fixtures to climb, and Fulham and Cardiff are now down in my view, with just one place to fill, and Sunderland are currently filling it, and they have a rather bigger mountain to climb than us and Norwich, though West Ham have a nightmare of fixtures to the end of the season too. I think that 36 points will bring safety this season, so a couple of wins and a few draws should see us out of the mix. I'm still not panicking yet!....................<ok>

That's a mighty big if! Didn't anyone ever tell you my son, that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush?

Oh and by the way Sunderland's next 4 fixtures are Norwich, Liverpool, Spurs, and West Ham??.................<laugh>

Big mountains are a lot easier to climb with the right personal and management in post , small mountains can be just as difficult without those two vital ingrediants .

I hate to say it, but don't rely on us stopping Sunderland getting any points :(

The way we have been playing, I am struggling to think where our next point will come from <wah>

I normally hate the season ending, but this time, I'd love it to finish right now. That's the only way I can see us staying up.

assuming Monk is a stop gap (as I assume the majority of us think he is), who for the job in 14-15?

My comment was in response to Norway when we were discussing Fergie's playing ability.

It seems two senior players Monk and Ash conspired to get Laudrup removed. Well Monk has found it aint no bed of roses, he should be sacked and he can take Ash with him in the summer. No player is bigger than the club. The board appears to be under the illusion that they know football and think its them who have delivered results on the pitch, it aint. They made good decisions up till now about appointing managers, but the managers got the team there not them. There needs to be a shake up and it starts with sacking Monk immediately and appointing an interim.

While it's true that Monk and Ash were at the heart of the Laudrup protests early season, I think that Tate was there too, along with Britton being dragged in as an unwilling party, so it wasn't all Monk, but Laudrup's sacking was more to do with some of his inept back room staff, and that's where all the issues came from regarding training, not to mention Laudrup's disappearing acts, but this is all irrelevant now, and I really do not see our board getting rid of Monk with the few games remaining. I don't think any more change of personnel would be good at the minute, but I do think that Monk could do with some help tactically, and there surely must be someone there at the club that can assist!..............<ok>

Sunderland to go down and a double team of Poyet and Zola would be the ideal partnership for me <ok>

Defoe on Poyet, would be real coup. Think Sunderland could well stay up though.

Poyet has been with Sunderland the majority of this season and they're still in the relegation zone. Why would Poyet be any good for us ?

potter knows how to.play football and had transformed sunderland, think they have more chance of staying up than us. Think our.playetd would also suit his style better.
