I've just had an idea how Portsmouth FC could potentially maybe raise a bit of extra money: give people the opportunity to pay to select a song to play on the tannoy during a home game maybe. Any song in the world, except those with profanity or are seriously long. For example, it could cost £5 to select a song and you could pay £10 to select two or whatever, or if you pay a certain amount, you can select every song pre-match and at half time! Wouldn't that be good maybe?! I'm sure lots of people would go for the opportunity to hear a really obscure song that they like (or even non-obscure) playing at the Park maybe!

I thought at first PL, you had lost the plot.
but then I thought the fun people would have with it.
In fact if you did get the club to get on board, I would make a very nice contribution to have a few songs played just before Ko

    We aren't playing "that"!

One song, what would it be?

This is one of the best covers I know of.

Surely a better option would be to get all those tenners you lot can raise together pop in to Will Hills and lump the £9.76 on Saints inflicting a humbling defeat on poor old pompey come April 7th? You wont get great odds obviously but you will at least get a return on your money!

Well, you're right Possum, I do feel it could be quite fun maybe. Although as I can guess what song you would select, it would have to be only available to people with tickets for the home end!

But imagine how amusing it would be if you selected some cheesy pop like C'Est la Vie by B*Witched or Dr Jones by Aqua or Wannabe by the Spice Girls or 5,6,7,8 by Steps and hearing that blasting out the tannoy just before kick off! Haha. And Meowth, you could buy as many songs as you like!

Meowth, is she the Japanese version of Astrid Gilberto?

Quite liked that, very retro, groovy, lava lamps, psychedelia etc............

That's a very good question because, Brazilian music is very popular in Japan. I have a CD of João Gilberto (Astrid's ex as I'm sure you know), live in Tokyo and I think he got an 11 minute standing ovation at the end. Not on the cd of course! His daughter Bebel Gilberto makes some nice music too.

I've been a big fan of Pizzicato Five, for many a year, their albums are a bit of a mish mash to be honest, but Happy end of the World is a good place to start.

It's probably because they (P5) broke up a long time ago.

France Gall yes! Jacques Dutronc. Even Bridget Bardot had a run at it. She "sang" the theme song for Eurotrash, mah leetle Eengleesh chums. I think it's called St Tropez

I think Brigitte Bardot went mad didn't she? Looks after a load of cats or something? Probably phones the blonde one from ABBA for a mental chat..........

    "Hallo Aggiementalperson?"

    "That you Briggybreakdown?"
