Funny to think back to last year, when a lot of people were saying Davies's awful form was down to Dawson's arrival and they couldn't play together. Even allowing for the fact that they're now playing in a lower division, I think they've laid that theory to rest.
Hmm I think it was reasonable to say that as Davies was ****ing gash last year. Maybe they should have just said drop Davies. The concensus was Dawson and Chester. Bruce tried Daws and Davies and it didnt work, probably cos Davies was sulking. Lets not forget the captaincy was taken off him due to poor form/attitude. Why would anyone say it was Dawsons fault.
Curtis is statistically the best centre back in the Championship so far this season. Dawson is also in the top ten, though statistics don't tell you everything, as Dawson has actually been better.
I am absolutely delighted to be wrong, unlike some I am happy to be proved wrong. Based on the evidence of Davies last season, I don't think it was a bad assumption. I was also a huge Chester fan. Davies and Dawson though have been brilliant this season, long may it continue.
Neither of them got nominated for the FLC Player of the Month, yet another CB did, ex-Tiger Daniel Ayala. All I have to say to that is... please log in to view this image
They didn't work together at all last season, that was pretty plain to see. The Championship is a lot lower quality so the issues with their partnership aren't exploited as much down here.
Davies suffered a complete loss of form last season, he went from being our player of the season to making loads of daft errors that saw him dropped. It was a problem with Davies, not with who he was playing with and on current form they'd still be a good pairing in the Premier League.
