How do you all feel about him now? This is not a thread to bash people about their opinions, I am simply curious as to the level of support he still has or doesn't have.

I am in two minds really. We have moved on several managers over the past couple of seasons and I think what we need most is stability, however if we continue to slide like we currently are, we could well end up in the bottom 2 and relegation could become a real possibility!

I would like to give him a little time, but if we are still struggling by x-mas, surely he must go?

I think everybody cares Chris. Its just that we dont really want to be seen to be negative, when every one should get together to turn things around.
Its a pity that if a manager can see that he will be unable to improve matters that they tend not to do the decent thing and resign.
You have to respect Steve Coppell for his resignation, if he believed that after a look at the set-up at AG he would have been struggling to keep the team above where they have been ever since he left!

    <laugh> I hate you all <grr>

Sapphire, I agree we should all get behind the team, and I do my best to when at games. Seeing as I do not shout abuse at players ring side, I like to let my frustrations out on here, but I am still behind the team mate <ok>

We all agree we need to stabilize the ship and I am not trying to get a MM out debate going, but I was just curious as to the current level of support MM is getting. Looks like people still believe he has what it takes and believe he needs more time. He is obviously a decent manager. Perhaps the injuries are soley to blame, but I do think MM needs to get more from him players

Probably did Wiz, but he would have been only a small cog in the wheel.

Managers are the big picture. Responsible for all that happens at the club. Very few managers have the guts to admit failure and walk away when they have let their clubs down.

Not the guts mate. It's all about money, when Paul Jewel said last week I will have to sit down with the chairman to discuss our position, he really meant I will sit down with the chairman and discuss how much he will pay me to leave!
Only twice have I known a manager to leave without taking a payment was Coppout and I think Strachen done it at Middlesborough didn't he say he failed so he should not be paid for failing?

Why has everyone got a split personailty on this one.

MM has unfortunately or not inherited an overpaid squad of players employed by the previous incumbant which in many cases are not good enough for L2.

However it appears that instead of dismantling peicemeal, he has added where possible within pay restraints a few players to be fair mostly on loan.

He tried to offload some of the players that he felt would not make the grade unfortunately there were no takers.

He has also suffered from players being injured in key positions neccesitating further loanees or making do with existing squad players and playing them outta position.

This has left us with an inconsistency in our performances not good but he is working with the material he has.

It sounds as if I am making excuses for our current predicament.I say we will not find out how good he is until we get rid af a few more players well at least 6/7 at the next window and bring in some long term replacements or tough it out with little return until next season, which I am not happy about.

I of course reserve the right to change my opinion if we drop into the relegation spots! View attachment 18480

I am sort of in the club of give him time .... but ... I wasn't impressed with his signings or lack of in the closed season ... why did we sign a 19 year old keeper if he isnt good enough to play? Why had Sean Cluccas been bought into the club - if he isn't good enough to play? How much of the wage bill does Clarkson use up? OK he aint a bad player - but he doesn't exactly set the world alight, or he hasn't so far? GK is a rock - but it took a couple of months to get him fit! Playing players out of position, the Constable saga, and why oh why didn't we snap up Poke and Downes - they were available, and as far as I know whould have signed there and then on the dotted line - 2 players who knew the set-up, was part of our undeated (at home) squad of the second half of the season etc etc!! As far as I am concerned 2 BIG mistakes right there .... so while I'm saying give him time, one half of me is saying - do you REALLY know what your doing????

I don't think sacking him would make a difference I just think some players don't give **** there just here for a wage
