So, we know one person who would happily support Melton Tigers. As long as they are in the PL of course.

You add nothing at all to this forum. If someone gave you a million quid you would say I want a million and 1 pound".
Your sole purpose on here is to nark people off.
Why don't you just go and hibernate Allam's arse.

It's about the arrogance of owners, thinking they are above the supporters and the place a team represents, even though they themselves are actually temporary and replaceable. If an owner doesn't like somewhere he can always sell up and let someone else take over. Obviously those who support arrogant owners would also support this moving of teams.

The first property I ever bought was just off Plough Lane, I went along when they got promoted to the top flight in the 80's, there was a great atmosphere around the place. It's disgraceful that it was allowed to be taken away from them.

    Dear Mr Happy Chappie,
I have wrote to you personally to advise from next season Hull Tigers will be relocating to Melton. We have also dropped the common Hull name so we will be Melton Allam Tigers Enterprise (MATE for short, because we like short).
We know you will join us.
We cannot put transport on from Hull (oh I shudder at that word) because we know we don't have to.
See you In August at the Allam Arena.
Thank you in advance for your continued support.
Please tell your one friend to join you (your carer).

    Yours sneeringly

Hopefully AFC will be playing on Plough Lane before long. Wimbledon's former ground is now a big block of flats, but they're pushing hard to build a stadium down the road on the site of the greyhound stadium (which I'd be slightly sad about, but it is old and decrepit).

I wasn't even taking the piss, I'm curious about how they've got loads of passionate fans in just 10 years and don't they feel a bit guilty supporting a stolen team?

Some locals, such as Hall Rd Rangers, ask similar of Hull United.

Nor was I. They're locals who never had a decent team to support locally. So they're supporting their home town club.

Success breeds greater fan numbers. Even we experience that.

The stolen team bit is a little tired now. Wimbledon FC as was, were about to disappear. They had no ****ing ground for christs sake. Despite all the bollocks about AFC since, there's been no huge investment, and no huge surge in fan numbers either. Aren't they sharing a ground at the moment? A ground with like 2 or 3k capacity? Must be queues of disappointed Dons fans unable to get in and support their team.

Wimbledon FC is gone. MK Dons renounced the rights to the history some time back (cba checking dates but they did). MK Dons is a team in its own right that has earnt the right to be where it is, as much as any other club. Oh you think it's just fine if a club can spend 100s of millions to build a team while lesser teams get fined for a fraction of that I bet.

Was it shabby the way Wimbledon FC were treated? Yes, by the owners, by the areas they were looking to build a better ground in, by the FA who allowed it. Bottom line is they were playing in someone elses ground and it looked highly unlikely they were ever going to get a ground near Plough Lane again, or even in that area at all.

Is it MKs fault? You could argue that by offering a huge ****ing awesome stadium they were partly to blame, but as ever, the fans just wanted a club, locally, that was successful that they could be proud of. MK Dons fans have that. Yes they got a leg up, by starting in League 1, but they soon went down. Natural justice maybe, but they've worked hard and invested well and have earned what they've achieved, as MK Dons.

They also have a ****ing impressive youth set up too, way better than ours.

I genuinely see no reason whatsoever to make comments like resenting or despising them unless its just simple jealousy, and even then I don't understand it.

The FA and FL were against the move. It was an independent panel that decided.

The whole business was murky and not football's finest hour. Wimbledon should have been made to go out of business if their finances were that poor and their
place in the league taken by an extra promotion in the football pyramid.

They think it puts Milton Keynes on the map. The 'Championship' isn't of course what used to be called the Championship, in reality it's just division 2 so still not the big media spotlight.

I went to Stadium MK this season - very impressive though they could only fill the bottom tier of it in the home end. We (Bristol City) sold out the away end (both tiers) and had a bit of the stand on the side as well.

To be fair to MK they have played some good football this season, and I'm glad they have come up with us - both teams could have an impact in the Championship next season

Did I just see someone claim that MK *Dons* had renounced their Wimble*don* past? Sheesh, some folk on here really do struggle with names.

They try and somehow justify why they never started from the bottom. The very contradiction that they are somehow supposed to be the old Wimbledon club and yet all the honours won by that club are actually with the Wimbledon team. I doubt any former players/managers feel any connection with the Milton keynes club.
