To me yet again HR messed up big time yesterday. Leicester already promoted were there for the taking as Brighton showed a week ago. I know we have another game tomorrow and the bollocks about resting players etc but come on Harry we have just scored 5 goals and players looked confident. In any sport momentum is key and winning becomes a habit and breeds confidence whatever level. As soon as I saw the team yesterday I was disappointed to say the least and the outcome of the game was unfortunately what I imagined. We cannot wrap players up in cotton wool, most of the successful teams in any of the leagues this season have played their best team week in week out, but HR changes approx 5 players each game. Anyway most of our players have already had a lengthy time out so they should all want game time and match fitness. Liverpool have played the same team for weeks now when they stiffed success, has Brendan Rodgers thought Ill rest Suarez, Gerrard, et al for that one?!!!!! Doe he ****!!!!

A win yesterday would have kept up the momentum but now we have lost another game we could have won and could be back to square one with another new team tomorrow!! Also I would rather be 3rd so we play 6th because Wigan over two legs will be extremely difficult.

On this seasons results home and away against the play off possibles.
Derby 2-1, 0-1...2-2 agg EXTRA TIME AND PENS.
Wigan 1-0, 0-0...1-0 agg WE WIN.
Brighton 0-0, 0-2...0-2 agg WE LOSE.
Reading 1-3, 1-1...2-4 agg WE LOSE.
Ipswich 1-0, 3-1...4-1 agg WE WIN.
Forest 5-2, 0-2...5-4 agg WE WIN.
Bournmouth 3-0, 1-2...4-2 agg WE WIN.
Blackburn 0-0, 0-2...0-2 agg WE LOSE.
    Watford Mon, 0-0...0-0 so far.

And before anyone starts telling me it wouldn't work that way...I KNOW. Tactics are much different in play off games, it's just a little fun and a look at how we've done against the others. The impression is we've been very poor against top teams in this league but remove Leicester and Burnley and it's very even with so far 6 wins 5 draws 6 defeats. 15 goals for 15 against....(1 game remaining). We have every chance in succeeding if things go our way....injuries clear up, no twats getting themselves sent off, manager has full squad to pick and picks the right team. (I'm sure that last bit will be highlighted by some here). Wigan often get pointed out as being the team to beat. Their recent form in the league has dipped a little with 2 wins, 2 draws 2 defeats (6 games is a good pointer to recent form)...and they have 3 out of 4 remaining games away from home so there's a good chance they'll drop points and we'd have the home advantage 2nd leg if we play them. Just my view though.

Brave attempt Gloucester and I hope you are right. Our recent form - 2 wins 1 draw and 3 losses.

For me this season is full of missed opportunities. As I drove to Leicester yesterday I thought we had a chance. Unitil I saw the teams that is.

Ive given up wondering at our baffling team selections, choice of subs, tactics now. Im just gonna go with the flow and see how we pan out at the end of the season. Whatever happens though for me its a lost season, particularly in terms of entertainment and value for money. Even if we go up.

In simple words Im bored with it. If this is the best we can do then god help us.

Well said Gloucester. For some reason people seem to think we should be doing better than we are despite recalling the total shambles we were in at the end of last season. No matter what way the doom mongers try to spin it, our stats are comparable to any of the other contenders.

Wigan will not relish meeting us one bit.

    Compared to the other contenders?

But why choose the last eight games? That's a selective stat. The only one that matters is over the 46 games and on that basis, we're every bit as good as the other 6 or so teams in contention. Particularly now that we've got Austin back.

As Gloucester and yourself have proved, stats can be spun around and fiddled about in any manner to give you the indication you're looking for. Governments are great at this. As is Joey Barton. Did you see the stats he through up a few days ago? He had us down as nearly the best team in the league!!

Swords, you sound like the Tory politicians that bang on about how the Labour government were responsible for the world banking crash. Redknapp had already had more than half a season to sort our problems, but failed. He has failed again this season.

Barton's motivation is for the good of the team morale.

Your motivation is that you're a troll.

Saying that we're every bit as good as the other teams going for the playoffs is trolling now is it?

The first paragraph of the OP about Arry's inability to provide even a core of a settled team is spot on.

The 2nd is off focus as what was key yesterday was getting the result needed to secure a play off place. We still need a point so the focus should be on getting that only.

Because the last eight games are more relevant than the first eight. The first eight showed we have nothing to fear in this division and we blew it royally. All other teams in the Play offs with the possible exception of Reading will be going into them in decent if not blistering form whereas we will be limping in thankful for our lucky start and the fact that other teams showed us too much respect. While you and some others applauded our start others could see that there were tougher times ahead given our set up, tactics and over-reliance on one decent centre forward.

Wigan, 2 wins in 7 games. They haven't a chance have they?

Palace, last year, were on a woeful run. Scraped into 6th after falling from the top. One year later, looks like they'll finish in the top half of the Prem.

Besides, who's to say we won't go in in decent form? We've two home and one away game left. I think we're on for 7 points, me.

Bit off track lads, all I was asking is should Arry have played his best team and carry on playing it until the play offs regardless of possible injuries or suspensions?!! My answer is yes and he missed an opportunity of another win on Saturday against the champions?!!
