The Labour party under Tony Blair was better known as "New Labour" Their policies were a massive shift away from the left leaning policies that Labour produced during their history. Instead they shifted towards the centre and even towards centre right. Ministers under Blair always towed this line an were at points indistinguishable from those for the Tory party. In effect. Blairism was a rejection of the left and an embrace of centre right politics, making the Labour and Conservative parties almost indistinguishable.
