Just a genuine question - Do you believe the coaches are continually picking the formation or do you believe Cellino is demanding that this is the way we play?
Its the coaches who pick the formation. No way any coach worth his salt would allow a chairman to dictate tactics and formation
We have to disagree there then mate as I am convinced Cellino tells the coach we are playing Diamond formation. McDermott, Hockaday, Redfearn, Milanic - All four of them stuck with a malfunctioning diamond formation, an abundance of central midfield players signed and not one wide player, I am telling you Cellino is dabbling too much in team affairs. Milanic before he came to Leeds favoured the 4-4-2 yet he joins us and immediately goes to the diamond formation, funny that eh?

Let's not get carried away with Redders just yet. He may have been put in place by Cellino, but has he accepted? I note that there has been no OS statement regarding this permanence, which makes me curious. As for Darko, did anyone hear his interview on the radio yesterday? WTF was he talking about? It was rambling nonsense, and in the absence of Tom Lees, it was the kids who got blamed. The kids he selected! One thing you can't fault Cellino on is his knowledge of football. He claimed that Darko was fired because he was negative (and admitted he was wrong in appointing him). Apart from the results and performances backing up this remark, you only had to look at the team selection/tactics yesterday to confirm this. Our full backs were restricted to their own half, clearly having been given a defensive mandate. Byram, the nearest we've got to a thrusting winger on the right, wasn't even selected. Probably because his attacking skills were not required. At home. WTF? And when we were 2-1 down, did we get the FBs to attack or bring on Byram? Nope. We continued in headless chicken mode & hoped for the best. And the only striker we had on the bench came on for our best midfielder in the 88th minute. Stroke of genius or what? I think it's or what!
Who would you have played and left out to make us a more attacking threat bearing in mind all the previous managers have went with the diamond and none of us really know if this is the request of Cellino or not? Personally I think Berardi is a better RB although I accept this is a matter of opinion and debate, Cellino obviously likes Berardi or why sign him when we already have Byram? Adryan played, the perfect number 10 according to Cellino and if you looked at posts on this very thread up to half time there was a bit of a frenzy in regards to how we were playing. I didn't believe Hockaday was the man for the job, I hadn't a clue about Darko although I would have given him longer and I don't believe Redfearn is the guy either, Cellino needs to stop getting it wrong with the coaches and gambles, stop trying to get a coach on the cheap, stop meddling with formations and selection (if he is) and give a good proven coach time to work some magic.
I Have to disagree, Beradi is a complete liability at RB. He can't tackle and he has the positional sense of Stevie Wonder.
So he was a crap/poor Cellino signing? I know it is all opinion but I have seen Warnock blamed numerous times, you and no doubt a few others feel Berardi is a waste and of course Pearce has been slated yet at the start of the season we had the best most solid defence in years.
Byram should start in front of Beradi whenever he can still walk. Warnock is quality, but has had a couple of poor games since Cellino had him dropped.
