What a spineless ****. Should have been playing against 9 men again today. Cattermole gets a yellow for violent conduct and Bridcutt leapt 2 foot in the air at Jelavic, but we'll let him off cos it was 30 seconds after half time. ****ing hate it when they bottle it.

Not to mention the blatant shove on Jelavic which should have been a penalty.

Or Wes Brown winning the ball that led to our goal.

Sorry PLT, were you expecting a Prem referee to give a good performance?

Sunderland defender John O'Shea: "There was very little in the game. Both teams went for the win and we had a couple of good chances to nick it. We showed great sprit and that's what we will need. We have stopped the rot now, but look, we know we have to battle."

Goalscorer Jack Rodwell: "It hit my arm but they all count! It happened so quickly, luckily the ref gave it."

I've no problem with their goal being given.

The Bridcutt one was the big decision - that's as clear a red card as you'll see.

Yeah, ive no problem with their goal either, he headed it onto his arm and it was going in anyway.

I don't mind it as much him missing a handball or whatever, and I'm not sure which shove on Jelavic is being referred to, it's the obvious undefendable bottling that really boils my piss.

If we had an old fashioned 'intimidating' ground there's no way they'd have stayed on the pitch.

What I don't get is if you haven't got the bottle to give those obvious reds why be a ref? He didn't miss anything, they couldn't have been clearer.

Didn't get a clear look at some of these big calls. If anyone's got a vine/reply of any please post.

Had a pretty good view of Bridcutt's, certainly looked nasty, don't think he could have complained if he'd seen red.

Dean was looking the other way when O'**** threw down Jela, so fair enough, but he has to send off Cattermole for his kick at Meyler.

Catt's looked like a booking no more to me.

Thought Mike Dean was ok. Cant say he cost us the game.

I can't understand how anyone could see it as less than a red. It wasn't a tackle it was assault. He lost his cool after being dispossessed and had a kick out. Far more clear cut than Ramirez against Tottenham. He wasn't even trying to hide it.

When I saw the kick out by Cattermole, I thought it would be a tough one if he was sent off, but then I forget the silly ones that happen in games other weeks & if any sort of consistency in the game they have to send them off for a blatant kick out like that, & so the same must go for Meyler if he put his head into Cat-Mole face, otherwise a yellow.
As for the Jela penalty, it seems no one is giving these as penalties, any player with their arms around the opposition doesn't seem to be even cautioned about it. If they start giving these then they have to again be consistent & give 5/6 a game until it stops.
I was impressed though with Dean not being conned by Sun'lan & got most parts right in the game when it came to fouls, bar either of the major incidents.
As for their goal, not hand ball, but it was piss poor attempt at a header.

I certainly think that Bridcutt could well have been given a red card for his two footed tackle but Cattermole's trip was a "professional" foul which fell short of red - I think the ref got that one right.

Steve Bruce reckoned it was a yellow and no more and he'd have had a better view than most.

I shouted for every one of their bookings to be a red but had no real conviction as I did it.

I think all the yellows were yellows and don't think anyone deserved to walk.

And can it be confirmed that Brucie was offering him out to a square go in linnet car park.

Bridcutt should have seen red, but any issues about refereeing decisions should have been academic anyway. Missed chances meant this was 2 points dropped against a pretty appalling Sunderland side
