Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! 9 games in, 5 point lead....... champions? What a ****er. Who the **** is he anyway? Oh thats right, a nobody.
Norwich fan in peace and offering an outsiders perspective I wouldn't be too hasty in condemning the man, there might (only might) be some truth in what he is saying but I appreciate because he comes from the 'other side' you don't want to know or care about what he says. Liverpool were all conquering for 2 decades and very few believed the bubble would burst, well it did and they have never fully recovered. Now Man City are the new boys in town, like it or not they have to be taken seriously this season and probably for a good few years, as long as the money keeps pouring in. It's been coming for a couple of years and last season's FA Cup win was just the beginning of what is likely to be their best era since they were formed - and by some considerable margin. I am not suggesting Man Utd will drop off the footballing map, of course they will not but neither will they be 'the top team' in my honest and humble opinion but they will still be one of the top European teams.
We were in a far worse position when Chelsea won their 2nd league title in a row. Our squad was weak and Chelsea seemed to have a bottomless pit of money.
City will disappear when the FFP rules kick in. Their "development" won't bankroll them for long with the losses their posting. 5 Years time city will once again be the small club they are destined to be and united will once again go back to being streets ahead of all the other clubs in terms of money. Only question is will they manage to steal a title before then.
We don't care about what he says cos he consistently talks blinkered ****e. Last season when we beat then 2-1 he was banging on about City dominating possession. Then the Sky stats popped up showing Utd had 56% possession and he claimed "I'm not into stats". And now he's claiming Utd fans think they have a god given right to trophies, whilst anointing City champions elect after nine games of the season. City may well win the PL, and could dominate English football for the next two decades for all we know, but it's a long way from that to Summerbee talking about it like it's fait accompli. Honestly, I know large numbers of City fans who are seriously embarrassed by this guy...
He is a pundit after all, they all talk pants at times - look at Mark Lawrenson, the biggest plank of the lot
True, but at least Lawrenson and all the others at least make an effort to be unbiased and fair and make educated and original comments based on the football itself. They could replace Summerbee with pretty much any City fan and the fan would do a far better job. Hell, his comments above could basically have been compiled off internet forums.
This is the video for anyone interested in seeing it.
Lol, still love seeing it. "We dominated possession for 60% of the game"..."I'm not into stats at all"... And I do love how he just ignores the presenter and the cameras and just has a massive argument with Redknapp halfway through, then when asked if City are in the title race he just responds with "I think we played really well today"
Bitterbee epitomises the worst man city fans. The bitterness has eaten anyway anything credible inside him and left him a pathetic figure with a chip on his shoulder and an inferiority complex. His classic February rant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6TnRZ1RTis&feature=related
