Blackpool too? Good to him, always felt he was a good squad player, chipped in with a goal from time too time, was prone to the odd error ;-)
As much as I love Llera for scoring that goal v Swindon, there's no way he could cope in the Championship - he regularly got beaten for pace and on the turn by League 1 strikers and any Championship side with him as a regular first-teamer better have a top-quality CB alongside him. That said, wherever he does go I wish him good luck.
Good luck to Llera. Some good goals, some peaches of cross field passes and some lion hearted performances in static defences where pace is not an issue and there is a lot of high crosses (Orient away, last season is an example of that). He was vulnerable to pace, and being turned. I wish him well though, where ever he goes. A player with a great attitude to the game.
Blackpool and Brighton?? Have Margate made an offer yet? Best of luck to Mr Llera wherever he does go.
MT agree it is our loss since I always rated him and believed that he put in 100% when on the pitch. However, it was obvious that his style of play didn't always gel with what CP wanted and when on the bench it appeared from my view that he was always slightly distant from the rest of the squad in the second half of last season. Sorry to see him go but this team is very clearly one that CP has put together and we must hope that it will perform well for him. If it doesn't, we have paddled a fairly long way up this creek and turning round mid season may be difficult.
