With Nolan and Tiote both suspended for the Villa game, who would you play in central midfield in their place. I have a dreadful feeling we will see Smith and Guthrie!!!

However, Ireland should be back soon, so maybe this will be his game to shine without Nolan there in the way.

If not, then I'd play Barton in the centre, Jonas right wing and Ferguson left wing.

    Thoughts?

    I'd hope for:

    Jonas - Barton - Guthrie - Ferguson

    Ireland ineligible, Smith injured.

I'd go for: Raylor Barton Guthrie Jonas

Ferguson at LB if needed but I get the feeling Pardew thinks its too soon for him.

Ireland obviously can't play because it is Villa, but R.Taylor is back so I expect him to be on the right with Barton and Guthrie in the middle and Jonas on the left.

Forgot that. Then DEFINITELY Barton in CM with Guthrie and Jonas Rm and Ferguson Lm.

What about Gosling??? if he is back, he could slot in to CM in place of Guthrie.

Think Ben Arfa is probably back before Gosling, not in training yet.

Pardew will probably go with Raylor-Guthrie-Barton-Guti. Fergie will probably play LB if he recovers. If not we will have to play Simpson there and put Saylor at RB because Perch is banned (thank god). I just can't see Jose being fit to play this weekend.

Our record without Tiote is not a goodone, never mind losing the lead goalscorer at the same time.

I would love to be oozing confidence but im afraid im not. Please, wrap Simpson in bubblewrap during the week so no ris of injury and Perch filling in:emoticon-0184-tmi:

Tavernier may play at either RB or LB. He was on the bench for the Wolves game, so is probably ready for a game IF necessary.

We had 4 defenders on the bench on Sat, and no midfielders. Literally a reserve back 4 of Tav Saylor Campbell Perch
