View attachment 18563 vs This weeks opponents come in the form of Tony Mowbray's Middlesbrough. It's also the return of Nicky Bailey who will step out onto the Valley pitch for the first time since he missed that fatal spot kick three seasons ago. While we have drawn our last two games 1-1 Middlesbrough are an in form team and have won their last 5 games in all competition including a 1-0 victory away to sunderland in the capital one cup. They are on a run of six games without losing so this could be a very tricky game for us. I expect Powell to go with his five man midfield against tough opposition and without Razak I have gone for Jacko to return to the starting line up. Seeing as we are at home I think we should have enough about us to get at least a point against Middlesbrough! Another 1-1 draw anyone?
Give them a thrashing! It would be much appreciated to us foxes who are trying to hold onto the top 2
Gutted to be missing this game- it will be an extremely tough game, but this is where we usually stand up as a team. Worryingly, I think it's going to be another draw. Worryingly, because we really need to get a few wins under our belts, but considering the opposition I guess I would take it.
You've done it again, Belvedere. Put Evina in the starting XI and on the bench. Do I have to get really sarcastic? You wouldn't like me if I got sarcastic! Also you are a bit late with returning Jackson to the starting line-up. He has started the last two games. I should think CP would prefer Dervite to either Jackson or Hollands, and perhaps to Pritchard too. A draw would be a good result against both Middlesboro and Cardiff. Won't do much for our league position, but better than nothing and we must hope to pick up three points elsewhere. For any hope of three points we might need to introduce BWP with 30 minutes to go if it's stalemate.
Whitney is my Monday, Wednesday and Saturday name. For tonight, I am Mary!! Back to M'boro though, I'm bored at a diner party, but that's no excuse to hijack a thread. Still predict 1-1. Hulse will score, emnes penalty.
I didn't even notice about the Evina thing that is poor by me!! I think I'm just running out of players to name in the squad! and I'm slacking as I've still not been able to get to a game this season
According to a thread on CL Evina is injured. If true would be a blow as I'd like to see Wilson at RM at home. Don't think there is another LB option at the moment other than Wilson. Boro have good wingers and would rip JJ to shreds and hes the only other obvious suggestion. I worry about this game simply as we have very few players left to pick from! Hope Stephens is fit.
Terrible for Evina if he's injured after waiting so long for his chance. Having watched the under-21's twice this season I'd have no qualms about Fox stepping up, he's improved so much in the last year. I'd be interested to read the views of anyone else who's seen him play recently.
If Evina is injured then Foxy will not get a game.... Solly to left back and Wilson to right back .... why not just put Jackson to left back? Addicks 0 Borough 1 .... Ohh Nicky Bailey
I can confirm that Evina is injured. He is on crutches and it doesn't look good at the moment. It seems that we are cursed with injuries.Paddy Powell must have run over a black cat while he was cutting the pitch. It is pay back time for the relatively injury free last Season.
Oh, for the good old days when we had a wealth of talent at left-back to choose from, Cory Gibbs, Djimi Traore, et al.
We will win 4-1. Hulse with a brace, BWP and Stephens with one each. I'm in a bit of an odd mood. I just spent 12 hours driving home from Cornwall. My brain is frazzled.
The thing is with our squad decimated with injuries can we be too critical at the moment we are a patched up side doing our best to compete with sides with bigger stronger squads yes it's frustrating but if we can keep out of bottom 3 till the injured return we will be ok and finish mid table
