Odds have been slashed tonight on Mick McCarthy becoming the next Palarse manager, (Yes it's true not a WUM)

What are your thoughts guys ?

Personally I'd be gutted if this happened ;)

Our style of play is poor but Im not sure who we could get who would improve our team with the current squad. We don't seem that attractive really so we may have to take a punt ala you guys and Lambert. Unfortunately the results of that can go either way. I think my biggest issue with him leaving is that I don't trust the board to make the right next appointment. I wouldn't push him out of the door but I wouldn't be too sad if he did leave in all honesty.

I don't mind fans of other teams coming onto this board and taking the piss but this is just insulting and any similar posts will result in me asking the mods to ban you!

ps thanks added in error - they are definitely not deserved

In all seriousness I would say that this is very unlikely!

Mick has never broken a contract in his life and he's getting paid a bloody good lick at Ipswich!

Palarse would also have to pay us a decent amount in compensation as he has just signed a three year contract along with TC. There are plenty of out of work managers from which they can choose from!

Not all of us - I thought he was talentless and gutless (walked out on Sunderland at the first time of struggle). Proved to be right as well but it was a lot more painful than I could ever have imagined.

I don't think you'll do anything other than eventually go down if you stick with him, just like Hughton, he's a horrible manager.

They just don't deserve to have work in football.

Not saying I want him out....yet, but I don't go along with those who think another manager would struggle with our squad.
We have players still contracted (some on loan) who could offer the new man many more options than the ones Mick decides to choose from. Many of us say things like "drop Skuse" or "do this..." so why wouldn't someone else say/do that?

Exactly SD, also we have 4 very good CB's in our back 4 and as mentioned time and time again, we are suited to a back 3 which another manager may come in and see straight away!!

I think it's make or break for MM this year. If he doesn't improve on last year I can see him getting a better offer at the end of the season and he will be gone. I think we overachieved last season and I can't see him repeating that feat again. The honeymoon period is well and truly over and I think we'll see how good, or bad, MM is as a manager this season.

Just read this on twtd and thought it spot on, its refering to someone who said Mick should not go,

This is MM's team and squad so what you are saying is that he has assembled a team/squad that cannot play passing attractive football, but its not his fault ?
Can he not coach or manage players to pass the ball , control the ball , look wide to feet rather than hoof it from the back , have midfielders who are comfortable on the ball and want to get it from the back four . This stuff does not cost it is about improving your players , tactics and playing to a style of play . MM 's style has always been 442 work hard , rush around and hit it too a big man up top , this has now been surpassed in football and we need to adapt .
Our team is begging for 3 at the back with wing backs as this is the players we have available Chambers,Berra, Smith with Hewitt, Parr/Mings . We could then drop one of the defensive midfielders as you would have extra cover but MM Is too rigid to make any changes
