As I remember the interview hed DID NOT mention a date, he said that the closer the transfer window was at ending - the less realistic it would be! To sell ONE player. Selling them both is SO FAR OUT.
Oh yes BTW - they're both cup-tied for European football!

Laudrup said there was a cut-off point where the club will not sell if an offer is made too close to the transfer deadline, giving them no time to sign a replacement.

It has to be reasonable in the sense that it needs to give us time to find a replacement," Laudrup added.

"So you can't come on the 30 August and say 'I'm leaving' or 'we want to buy this and that player' because then it won't be possible.

"I can't tell you exactly what date is the deadline if someone wants some of our players.

"But it's definitely not the 25th, the 27th, the 29th or 31st [of August]."

By my reckoning Wenger has no more than 10 days to table a bid. Cant see it myself. With a new 4 year contract only just signed and his first taste of European football with a team virtually now built/designed around him. There are a lot of reasons to stay and only to leave.... money!! Going on previous interviews he values loyalty more than money. He turned down a 5 year contract in La Liga and a lot more cash, to stay with Oviedo early on in his career purely for loyalty to his club. He also feels Swansea is a home from home and is comparitive to his hometown with its coal mining and steel production. He loves the Premier League, the club, the city and the country ( his words not mine). Of all the players/managers that have come and gone he seems the most honest and humble. I for one beleive him when he says he wants to stay...... for now ;)

Hell guys why are you buying this garbage? Are you not unimpressed with the Gunners transfer dealings? they are known for buying cheap and young to develop, but having said that, they have been linked to Ashley Williams all summer, and what of it? this is going nowhere, absolutely nowhere, hell they're bid for Suarez was a joke!.................<ok>

Never, hell what you up too, good job I always copy my posts, due to the sites issues!................<laugh>

God knows what went on phil. I'm pleading insanity as I've been out shopping all day!! :emoticon-0107-sweat

I can't see us selling Michu to Arsenal. Anyway why would Arsenal but an attacking midfielder when they want a striker.

The lack of interest is probably due to the player not wanting to leave. I am a firm believer that most rumours come from the agencies for which players are signed up to, for instance the whole Suarez thing wouldn't even be happening if it were not for Suarez's agent approaching Arsenal. Thus, the lack of interest in Michu is not down to other teams thinking he will not repeat his goalscoring form (he actually had the same scoring record in La Liga... outscoring Iniesta, Alonso, Kaka, Xavi and Fabregas etc.) but instead due to his agent not approaching any club as the player told him he was happy where he was.

Michu probably senses that Swansea will continue improving, the large Spanish contingent helps his family, the city people give them their privacy they are reported to value very highly and ofcourse he is guaranteed a starting place which helps his bid to join up with the national squad. Del Bosque will not overlook him again after Brazil demolished his team. Michu would have put away some of their chances in that match will relative ease, Spain were setting up finishing opportunities but nobody in that squad had the placing accuracy like Michu. I think he will still be in South Wales come next May.

I wont be happy until the window closes and arsenal have failed to get one or two of our players. Up until then anything can happen as its happened many times before. All we as fans can do is watch the situation and hope we manage to keep everyone and even make a couple of last minute signings ourselves that the clubs concerned would be in the same boat....coys....

Window is as much closed already. Even if Suarez does go to Pool, there is no way Michu would want to move to Liverpool to work under Brenda. Is their side any better than ours?
Arsenal just dont pay the asking price.

Spot on Swim! They are as tight as a ducks posterior, and we do not have the time now to find a replacement anyway, so it's a none starter, as far as I'm concerned!..............<cheers>

Of course they are, but massive step up or not there is a time frame to do business, IF they made an offer then we would have to secure somebody else first and then let the deal go through, knowing how we do business I don't see that happening.

Laudrup and the club will have possible alternitives lined up no doubt but I just don't think its going to be possible for us or them in a short time frame..you never know in football though <ok>

I am personally really looking forward to ML schooling Brenda again this year. Their win last year was a complete anonomy due to rested players and the final :)

I cannot see Pool improving on last year myself
