I could have added this to an existing thread but a cracking read and worth your time imo http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/espnfcunited/id/10015?cc=5739
Michu just subbed after being given f**k all service by his more celebrated team mates. I'm totally disappointed, so can't imagine how he's feeling!! Tuned out in frustration. With all that talent you'd think Spain could carve out some decent chances but they huffed and puffed with lots of possession... and no result. I can see why the German teams are taking the ascendancy in Europe. As I said on another thread, tika-taka is all very well but, if you are not careful, it becomes an end in itself and goal scoring gets put on the back burner. No doubt Negredo, who replaced Michu, will get some chances as Belarus tire and people will think that Michu can't cut it. Talk about sod's law!! I just hope he gets another chance, this time in his favoured position but I swear he gets far better service from his Swansea team mates than he did from that lot tonight - and I hope he let's them know it after the game.
Unfortunately Ivor, Michu is a small fish in the Spanish pond so I doubt their stars will lose any sleep over it. You are right about the Germans though, especially Bayern. They look set to dominate now.
Guys, what they can't ever take away from him is the fact that he is now a full Spanish international - with a cap gained in a competitive match. Plus, he got the cap playing for Swansea City!
I feel desperately sorry for Michu. Spain looked like a different team when Negredo came on and he was getting service that Michu could have only dreamed of in the first half. As Owen Hargreaves pointed out in his analysis had Michu been on he would have scored that goal, no doubt. I hope the Manager sees it the same way and he makes the squad for Brazil.
