out of the 7 yellow cards brandished to Manure
2 were for diving, --- both shocking attempts by Januzai and Di Maria
1 was for pulling on the back of the ref's shirts ---- Di Maria don't you know, you can't manhandle the ref
1 was for back chatting, trying to get another player sent off ---- Roco was telling the ref to yellow card Arsenal player
1 was for committing 8 fouls - booked after the 6th --- Fellaini, yet again out of 22 fouls he commits more than a third of them
1 was Ashley Young ----- trying to ride piggy back on an opponent
1 was for a foull --- Herrera, tackle from behind

    well done indeed
he wasn't weak livered unlike the twat from Manchester, Anthony Taylor

the only one that escaped was Rooney, who always had a snipe at the ref for any decision

Interesting factoid, I have been referee'd and played football against Michael Oliver. Nice lad. Thought he did really well last night.

I rate Anthony Taylor to be honest. I have to question though how he was referee against Man U if he is from Greater Bloody Manchester? How does that work? I thought he had a good game bar the odd decision, let a lot go for both sides. I thought there were rules regarding this?

that taylor sent off Jacob stupidly at the weekend end m8 ..bad blunder .. it is hard for refs but all I ask is play by the rules ..expect a lot of intimidation at there ground cause they try out to get on over on you

They'll all make mistakes though. I have watched him numerous times this season, and I like the way he lets the game flow. People are allowed to tackle. They'll soon knock that out of him though.

It was clear to see by everyone that knows about refereeing,
Taylor had instructed his assistants to give throw in's and offsides only
the assistant on the East Stand line was a quivering wreck due to be barracked from the fans on the East Stand
this was the assistant who had a clear view of the foul (penalty) but didn't flag
it was also noticed when Obertan was fouled near to the assistant that Taylor gave the foul from 20 yards away
again with the assistant closer and failing to raise his flag

bad decisions from the assistants effect the markings and standings of the referee
so by making all the major decisions he stands by himself
and it's the assistant that looks the fool

It was a poor pen call. I'm not one for jumping all over refs over one decision though, they get things wrong and I think you just accept the ups and downs. I don't think he has instructed his linesman to not give pens (he wouldn't be permitted to do so). Same applies with the other foul. Its a pretty clear case of the linesman trying to be passive. He should be looked at, the same way the referee would be. The linesman has failed to make a good call and as a team they have failed in that instance.

This Greater Manchester thing annoys me though, there are loads of refs to choose from.

linesmen are qualified refs . so really should be able to call things that the refs cant see ..I always thought this has to happen ... as for yes if u from Manchester you shouldn't really be in charge of games of the 2 clubs ..just like oliver and clattenberg don't ref the toon

Well played, ref. You didn't bottle it in front of that red shower.

To be fair to Taylor, he doesn't support either of the Manchester clubs.
Apparently, the Premier League Referees Assoc arranged for him to travel to and from the game on the Man Utd Team Bus, which had the added benefit of reducing his Carbon footprint on travelling, and also enabled Wayne and the boys to get to know him better.
    Seems fair to me. <ok>
