The slight difference is that Silva has the skill to go past players. He can achieve his end result quite often on his own. A good bit of individual skill and finish and he can make a difference. Ozil is not about skill and beating a man. His is about vision and putting team-mates into scoring positions. Unfortunately he's only got Sanchez and Welbeck to set up right now. He does need more options, but he also needs to start making more of a difference himself. A £42m player can't just rely on having worldies to pass to.
Wenger said he'd be back near the start of the season (around September end-ish) which means he'll probably be fit to start in April.
Ozil has the technical ability, he just doesn't have it up stairs to be a top player. Watch the way he takes penalties and you'll see how little composure and bottle he has. He's alright when things are going well, but when the team needs to dig in against better sides, Ozil will always hide behind others. Rather than live up to his price tag and take the game by the scruff of the neck he goes missing. There is a reason why Arsene Wenger is reluctant to spend big money on players, and that's because he gets it wrong more often than not. I can really think of any player Arsene Wenger has spent big on that's delivered. This is the same manager who didn't rate Zlatan Ibrahimovich and Yaya Toure as youngsters, and passed up the opportunity to sign them for nothing
Wenger wanted to sign Yaya. It was work permit issues that put a halt to things. If you're going to post things look up your information. And if IIRC Wenger asked Zlatan to do a trail which he refused to do and that scuppered that move.
Wenger even says he regrets not signing those players, he had the opportunity and he didn't sign them. Yayas older brother Kolo got a work permit, so how wouldn't Yaya? Wenger thought Kolo was the superior player of the 2
Kolo is a CB, Yaya is a midfielder. 2 completely unrelated positions. Kolo's signing had nothing to do with Yaya's situation. Not to mention I don't think you understand how work permits function.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29275029 I think some of you should read wengers comments on ozil and take note!
He also said that though Ozil is playing on the wing he has license to roam around the pitch and even suggested looking at Ozil's heatmaps.
For anyone interested - here is an analysis of why Ozil is struggling - it is from the Swedish Newspaper Aftonbladet but the link translates it to english: https://translate.google.com/transl...ils-mardrom-i-arsenals-nya-system/&edit-text=
Hahaha Well that goes our theory that playing him on the wing is making him play ****. He's just playing plain **** then.
I personally don't think he has been playing that poorly. He's been off form but so has the whole team. Hardly think it's worth picking him out separately. And last season he was a great player for us.
Ozil showing what he is about. A goal, an assist and several other great balls and runs, unlucky not to add another goal. What a player.
True, but today was a great step in the right direction. He is a top quality player, and I think today will do his confidence the world of good
A goal, assist, & more ground covered (11.3km) than any #AFC player. Is Ozil back to his best? http://t.co/oCcsxqa0sk pic.twitter.com/5qYbEUDSdC â Sky Sports Football (@SkyFootball) September 20, 2014
