The 2 greatest players to ever lace up a pair of boots. McGeady uses velcro

I think we can all agree that Diego has inspired the better tunes <ok>

i would have to disagree with you on this one Dev, to me Maradona was and still is the greatest player ever to play the game <ok>
personal opinion of course and maybe due to my age growing up when he was still playing etc etc

That's why I said it was a "generational thing", Maradona was indeed a phenom but I genuinely think Messi is as good as him if not better. When I was a lad Pele was the most famous footballer in the world and a great sportsman to boot, he would never have cheated to win a game, so for that alone he shades it for me.

Think the fact Maradona was so flawed is part of it for me as well. I just don't think he gets the credit he deserves in this country what with the hand of god against "them" plus everything else going on at the time with the Argies. As for Messi i suppose he can only really be judged when his career is over.

Messi for me, he's an absolute gem - great control, awareness, acceleration, finishing and no mano de dios either.

The thing is with Messi, I've never seen anyone who makes playing and scoring goals look so easy.
