Didn't realise that Funky, thanks for that, makes a bit more sense of the BBCs p1ss poor coverage of our club.
Press relations aren't good at the moment. We didn't give the press any access to new signings either. The only club who didn't.
Yeah, fair enough. Still, it's not the prediction that winds me up, it's the piss poor rationale. 'Bournemouth were awful last week, (I won't mention that Sunderland were very good last week in case I have to refer to them by name), and I know where Bournemouth is......so......2-1 to Bournemouth then.' This would be fine: '2-1 to Bournemouth. I know they were poor last week but I think they've got something about them this season and I've seen they can play good football. Sunderland on the other hand were good last week but they still lost. They always seem to do worse than they should do on paper and they've got a long journey for this game. Home advantage and and a little bit more momentum, Bournemouth to get three points.' I couldn't argue with something like that, but Merse isn't capable.
I can't blame Merson for this opinion. Our best performance this season was against a miss firing Spurs and we still lost. I do expect us to be better again on Saturday and I'm quite confident of the victory.........cue the kick the nuts!!!
Jeff Stelling to Merson just 5 minutes ago..... Who is more likely to be playing PL football next season, us or Bournemouth? Merson: Bournemouth. And no one disagreed. No one is giving us a chance.
He thought long and hard about it tho lol. So predictable...he could have amazed us and said we had better chance of staying up citing reasons like our new signings will get fitter and better. Or that we are experienced with the pressures of a relegation scrap and ALWAYS find a way in the end. He could have said we have a proven goal scorer in our ranks who is on form or that our squad has more depth than Bournemouths...but that would be expecting too much eh...
Fuel for our fire. Lets prove all the ****ers wrong and stay up. If we get a few results and pick up our form I bet their tune changes. Will that happen? Remains to be seen...
I never get upset when pundits predict us to lose because most of the time we do, no matter how we perform.
