It may have been slightly overlooked in the melee at the end of season dinner but one thing that really jumped out at me as a huge positive is the continued support of MEMS for the next four years. After the farce we got ourselves into with KRBS who apparently puled out on us as late as possible, it is good to have our sponsor embedded in the community and the owner of which is a Gills fan. I know the sponsor doesn't mean much to the average fan but I'm pleased to see them sporting us after seeing some of the ridiculous sponsors some clubs have had this year such as Birmingham with the highly debated electronic cigarettes sponsoring them this year. I don't know maybe I'm reading into it too much but I like the way we are sponsored by a local company for the next 4 years for a fee of 500,000k (not to be sniffed at) which can help us sign players or improve the youth facilities. Maybe I'm still on a high after the end of the year but with a decent manager, a decent sponsor, and a decent chairman ( would you rather have Carson Yung or the type?!) helping the club I cant help but look forward to cheering the gills on next year!
I don't know much about them but what I do know makes me think the MEMS has been a very positive sponsor contract, local company, local jobs for the community, all good in my book.
