Sajid Javid (The Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport) visited the Memorial Stadium this afternoon and met with Nick Higgs and Charlotte Leslie.

The appeal from the applicant who is fighting to get the Mem listed as a war memorial, is being looked at by Sajid Javid who has 4 weeks to make his decision from when the appeal date - which will be around 17th June.

Higgs spoke with Sajid Javid at length about the cost to the club and its partners of the delays from the JR and English Heritage appeals and the knock on effect this has had on timescales. Higgs outlined to him that although the club still aim to start building this year, it is now unlikely the stadium will be ready for the start of the 2015/16 season.

Well done TRASH. You have managed to delay the move to UWE by 1 season, costing over £1million due to delays until now plus further costs due to having basically 2 stadiums when UWE gets built but may not be able to move into UWE during the season when its ready.

The update with the Mem: 17th June (approx) is the deadline to hear from Sajid Javid who has the final word meaning no more appeals.
The update with UWE: If things go in our favour with Sajid Javids decision, the delays until now has made it unlikely that UWE will be ready in time for the following season.

TRASH has to pay and I hope BRFC take legal action.
